Paid Media Creative Specialist
3-Month Contract with Potential for Extension and/or Conversion
Hybrid – Columbus, OH preferred; Fully Remote Considered
Full-Time | 40 hours/week
About the Role
Our leading children’s media and education client is looking for a creative, hands-on Paid Media Creative Specialist to support a pilot initiative focused on developing and optimizing creative for paid media campaigns.
This role will sit within the Creative team and work closely with a copywriter and the Paid Media Strategy team to bring engaging, performance-minded creative concepts to life across paid social and digital channels. The ideal candidate is someone who can move comfortably between content creation, low-fi video production, graphic design, and paid media — creating assets that are both visually compelling and aligned with campaign objectives.
This is an opportunity to join a collaborative team during a pilot initiative, with the potential for the contract to be renewed based on the success and needs of the program.
What Will You Be Doing?
- Create engaging, performance-focused creative assets for paid media campaigns across platforms such as Meta and YouTube.
- Capture and edit low-fi video content designed for social and digital advertising environments.
- Develop graphics and other visual assets that align with campaign objectives, brand standards, and platform best practices.
- Collaborate closely with a copywriter to develop cohesive creative concepts that bring visual and written messaging together.
- Partner with the Paid Media Strategy team to understand campaign goals, audiences, creative needs, and performance considerations.
- Translate paid media strategies and briefs into compelling creative concepts and assets.
- Adapt and resize creative for different paid media placements, formats, and platforms.
- Stay current on paid social and digital advertising creative best practices, particularly across Meta and YouTube.
- Bring a test-and-learn mindset to creative development, using campaign performance and learnings to inform future creative.
- Help identify opportunities to refresh, optimize, or iterate on creative based on campaign needs and performance.
- Work within established brand guidelines while bringing fresh, engaging ideas to the creative process.
- Manage multiple creative projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Support additional creative and paid media initiatives as needed.
What Will You Need To Bring?
- 2+ years of experience in creative, digital marketing, paid media, social media, advertising, content creation, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience creating social and/or digital advertising creative, particularly for paid media.
- Experience with low-fi video capture and editing for social or digital platforms.
- Strong graphic design skills and an eye for visual storytelling, composition, and brand consistency.
- Familiarity with Meta Ads and/or YouTube advertising and an understanding of paid media creative best practices.
- Experience creating content in a variety of formats, including static graphics, short-form video, and other digital assets.
- Ability to take a creative concept or campaign objective and turn it into engaging, platform-appropriate content.
- Comfortable collaborating with copywriters, strategists, marketers, and other creative partners.
- Strong communication, organization, and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
- A portfolio or examples of creative work demonstrating relevant graphic design, video, social, or paid media creative experience.
- Experience with creative tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut, Figma, or similar platforms is preferred.
- Experience using paid media platforms, analytics, or campaign performance insights to inform creative decisions is a plus.
- Experience working in a creative agency, in-house creative team, or digital marketing environment is a plus.
