Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 to 5:00
Hybrid Status:Two days per week onsite and three days per week remote

Hourly Compensation (During the initial contracting period): $23.00 per hour
Annual Salary & Benefits (Permanent):
- $60,000-$80,000 salary

Position Summary
We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Proposal & Technical Writer to support the development of proposals, technical materials, and business development communications.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional who enjoys writing, research, collaboration, and translating complex information into clear and persuasive content. The ideal candidate may have 1–2 years of professional writing, proposal, communications, or related experience, or may be an exceptional recent undergraduate or graduate with demonstrated writing ability and strong communication skills.
Prior proposal experience is helpful but not required. We are equally interested in candidates who demonstrate exceptional writing skills, intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, and the ability to quickly learn technical and business concepts.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the writing, editing, and development of proposals, Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), capability statements, presentations, and other business development materials.
- Work with technical, operational, and business development team members to gather information and translate their expertise into clear and compelling written content.
- Review solicitation and proposal requirements and assist in ensuring responses address required topics, instructions, and evaluation criteria.
- Draft and edit technical narratives, company qualifications, management approaches, past performance descriptions, resumes, and other proposal sections.
- Organize complex or technical information into clear, concise, and reader-friendly content.
- Conduct research on customers, industries, technologies, competitors, and related topics to support proposal and business development efforts.
- Edit materials for grammar, clarity, consistency, tone, structure, and overall effectiveness.
- Assist with maintaining reusable proposal content, templates, past performance information, resumes, and other writing resources.
- Coordinate with internal contributors to gather information and support proposal deadlines.
- Assist with document formatting, quality-control reviews, and final proposal production.
- Support other technical, marketing, communications, and business writing needs as assigned.
- Manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Technical Writing, Public Policy, Business, a technical field, or another discipline requiring substantial research and writing. Current or recently completed graduate-level education is also welcomed.
- Exceptional written communication, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Ability to write clearly and persuasively for different audiences.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with subject matter experts and translate their input into polished written content.
- Strong research, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and related productivity tools.
- Ability and willingness to learn unfamiliar technical and business subject matter.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience in proposal writing, technical writing, communications, marketing, business development, consulting, or a related field.
- Exposure to government contracting, emergency management, technology, consulting, professional services, or another technical environment.
- Experience supporting RFP, RFI, or other formal solicitation responses.
- Experience writing about technical or complex topics.
Candidates without prior professional proposal experience are encouraged to apply if they can demonstrate strong writing ability through academic work, internships, professional experience, or other relevant writing samples.
