About the Engagement
DigiSignals is looking for an independent user experience designer for a six-month engagement with a global AI company establishing its US operations in Bellevue. You'll design the interfaces people use to work with AI, from cloud and compute consoles to data-heavy dashboards and agent-based tools.
The engagement is at an early stage and the priorities are still taking shape. You'll help decide where design can have the most impact, then deliver against that plan. This role suits a senior designer who enjoys bringing structure to an open problem and seeing it through to build-ready work.
What You'll Work On
You'll start by meeting stakeholders and users, reviewing existing tools, and producing a design roadmap that sets priorities for the rest of the engagement. From there, the work is likely to include some of the following:
- AI Cloud & Compute Interfaces: Consoles for provisioning GPU capacity, monitoring workloads, and tracking usage, quotas, and cost.
- Data Visualization & Dashboards: Dense, scannable dashboards and reports for operational, market intelligence, and executive audiences.
- Conversational & Agentic AI Experiences: Chat and agent interfaces, including prompt input, streamed responses, citations, tool actions, approval steps, and error and uncertainty states.
- Information Architecture: Navigation, content structure, and role-based access for enterprise tools used across multiple teams.
- Design System & Accessibility: A component library, design tokens, and usage guidelines, designed to WCAG 2.2 AA.
- Prototyping & Usability Testing: Interactive Figma prototypes tested with real users before build.
- Engineering Handoff: Specs, states, and edge cases that developers can build from without guesswork.
- Handover: Organized files, decision records, and guidelines, all delivered in a client-owned Figma workspace.
Skills & Experience
- 5+ years designing web applications, including enterprise, B2B SaaS, cloud, or developer-facing products.
- A track record of starting from unclear requirements and turning them into a defined, prioritized plan.
- A portfolio that shows your end-to-end process on complex products.
- Experience interviewing technical stakeholders and presenting recommendations to senior leadership.
- Expert Figma skills, including components, variants, auto layout, variables, and interactive prototyping.
- Experience designing data-dense interfaces such as tables, filters, charts, and dashboards.
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and React, enough to design within real implementation constraints.
- Nice to have: AI or LLM product interfaces, cloud consoles (Azure, AWS, GCP), infrastructure or observability tools, or React-based design systems.
- Authorized to work in the United States and able to pass a background check.

Contract Details
- Engagement: Independent contractor (1099), 6 months, with possible extension. The engagement runs in two phases: a four-week discovery phase, followed by a delivery phase defined in a statement of work.
- Location: Bellevue, WA. Primarily remote, with on-site sessions during discovery and as needed after that.
- Commitment: Approximately 40 hours per week, with a flexible schedule and availability for meetings during Pacific business hours.
- Rate: $70–$85 per hour, depending on experience.
