We are seeking a talented
SharePoint UX Designer to create intuitive, engaging, and user-centered digital workplace experiences across SharePoint Online and the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. In this role, you will work closely with business stakeholders, content owners, developers, and digital transformation teams to design modern SharePoint sites, intranet portals, knowledge hubs, and collaboration environments.
Responsibilities:
- Requirements & Analysis (15%): Gather and analyze user, business, and technical requirements to support SharePoint and Microsoft 365 initiatives, including intranet, collaboration, communications, and knowledge management solutions.
- Prototyping & Layouts (15%): Create wireframes, mockups, page layouts, site maps, navigation models, and interactive prototypes to visualize and validate digital workplace experiences.
- Project Management & Execution (15%): Manage multiple design initiatives simultaneously while maintaining high-quality deliverables, meeting project timelines, and adapting to evolving priorities.
- Information Architecture (10%): Develop information architecture, taxonomy, metadata, and content organization strategies that improve usability, findability, and content governance.
- Research & Discovery (10%): Participate in discovery sessions, stakeholder interviews, workshops, and user research activities to understand employee needs, workflows, and opportunities for improvement.
- Standards & Accessibility (10%): Apply established UX standards, design systems, accessibility requirements, and SharePoint best practices to create consistent and intuitive user experiences.
- Testing & Feedback (5%): Support usability testing, feedback collection, and user research efforts to validate solutions and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration (5%): Collaborate with SharePoint developers, Microsoft 365 administrators, communications teams, and business stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of user experience solutions.
- End-User Advocacy (5%): Advocate for end-users by incorporating feedback and user-centered design principles throughout the design process.
- Stakeholder Presentations (5%): Present design concepts, recommendations, and research findings to project teams and business stakeholders.
- Design Systems & Guidelines (3%): Contribute to the evolution of SharePoint design guidelines, templates, and best practices to promote consistency across digital workplace experiences.
- Continuous Improvement (2%): Actively seek and incorporate feedback from peers, users, and stakeholders to improve designs and support a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required in User Experience (UX) Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Information Architecture, Digital Design, Graphic Design, Visual Design, Interaction Design, Communications, Library & Information Science, or a related field.
- A portfolio demonstrating experience designing SharePoint Online sites, intranet portals, knowledge management solutions, or other digital workplace experiences is highly desirable.
- 5+ years of experience in User Experience (UX) Design, SharePoint Online, Digital Workplace Solutions, Information Architecture, Employee Experience, or a related field.
- Proven track record designing and optimizing SharePoint Online sites, intranets, knowledge portals, communication sites, and Microsoft 365 collaboration environments.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design methodologies, including user research, wireframing, prototyping, usability testing, accessibility, and interaction design.
- Information Architecture: Experience developing navigation structures, taxonomy, metadata strategies, and content organization frameworks that improve usability and content discoverability.
- Proficiency with UX and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design platforms.
- Experience facilitating stakeholder discussions, discovery sessions, user interviews, and feedback workshops.
- Working knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG), content governance, knowledge management principles, and digital workplace best practices.
- Professional certifications or specialized training in UX Research, User-Centered Design, Information Architecture, Usability Testing, Accessibility (WCAG), Design Thinking, or Human-Centered Design.
