UX Content Writer

Candidates should come from a UX Writing, Content Design, Product Design, or Digital Product environment and have direct experience collaborating with product teams. Traditional marketing copywriters, brand writers, or content marketers without product experience may not be the best fit for this role.
We are seeking a UX Content Writer to create clear, concise, and user-centered content for web and mobile digital products. This is a UX/Product role rather than a traditional marketing or copywriting position.
The ideal candidate has experience collaborating directly with UX designers, product managers, researchers, and developers to shape intuitive product experiences. This individual will help users navigate complex workflows, complete tasks successfully, and engage with digital experiences through thoughtful content design and UX writing practices.
Key Responsibilities
UX Writing & Content Design
- Create and refine interface content including:
- Navigation labels
- Buttons and calls-to-action
- Forms and field guidance
- Error messages
- Notifications
- Onboarding experiences
- Help and support content
- Other in-product microcopy
User-Centered Content Development
- Apply user research insights and customer needs to create clear and effective content
- Simplify complex concepts and workflows into intuitive experiences
- Ensure content is accessible, relevant, and easy to understand
Design Process Collaboration
- Partner closely with UX designers throughout the product development lifecycle
- Contribute content that influences user flows, interaction patterns, hierarchy, and overall experience design
- Participate in design reviews and collaborative product discussions
Voice, Tone & Content Standards
- Maintain consistent voice, tone, and terminology across digital products
- Contribute to content guidelines, editorial standards, and governance practices
- Help establish scalable content patterns and reusable content frameworks
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Collaborate with:

Testing & Optimization
- Participate in usability testing and content reviews
- Use qualitative and quantitative insights to improve content effectiveness

- Alignment with content standards
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of UX writing, content design, or related experience
- Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
- Experience working within cross-functional product teams
- Ability to simplify complex information into clear, actionable content
- Experience explaining content decisions and incorporating feedback
- Strong collaboration skills with designers, product managers, and developers
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience writing for consumer-facing web and mobile applications
- Background supporting digital commerce, transaction-based, ordering, loyalty, or customer-facing experiences
- Familiarity with accessibility and inclusive content practices
- Experience creating or maintaining content standards, design systems, or reusable content patterns
Additional Skills
- Portfolio showcasing UX writing and content design work
- Demonstrated ability to write concise and effective microcopy for complex workflows
- Experience with Figma or similar collaborative design platforms
- Understanding of user research methodologies and usability testing
- Knowledge of information architecture and interaction design principles
- Experience working in Agile product environments
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
