Production Designer – Home Goods, Apparel & Seasonal Products
6–9 Month Contract
Hybrid - Bellevue, WA
Are you a production designer who gets just as excited about how a design comes to life as you do about the design itself?
We’re looking for a talented Production Designer to join the creative team behind one of the world’s most recognizable entertainment and lifestyle brands. This is an opportunity to work on a wide range of highly visible consumer products—from apparel and accessories to home goods and seasonal merchandise—and help transform creative concepts into polished, production-ready products enjoyed by fans around the world.
This role is ideal for someone who is highly detail-oriented, understands the realities of manufacturing, and genuinely enjoys the production side of design.
What You’ll Do
- Take approved creative concepts and translate them into accurate, production-ready artwork and files for a variety of physical products.
- Create and maintain detailed tech packs, spec sheets, production files and artwork specifications.
- Develop files that clearly communicate color, placement, trims, patches, special treatments, dimensions and other production requirements to vendors.
- Partner closely with internal creative, product development and cross-functional teams throughout the product development process.
- Work directly with production partners and external suppliers to ensure artwork and specifications are executed accurately.
- Review vendor proofs and product samples, incorporating revisions as needed.
- Maintain consistency and accuracy across templates, specifications and production documentation.
- Apply knowledge of different substrates and production techniques across fabric, wood, metal, glass, plastic and other materials.
- Support products from initial approved concept through final production.
- Independently execute production design work across multiple product categories and timelines.
What You’ll Bring
- 4–6+ years of professional experience in production design, production art, apparel, merchandise, consumer products or a related field.
- Expert-level proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign, on Mac OS.
- Experience creating production artwork, tech packs, spec sheets or similar vendor-facing documentation.
- Strong understanding of print production and manufacturing processes.
- Experience working with some combination of screen printing, roller printing, embroidery, patches, sublimation, decals, digital printing and offset printing.
- Experience preparing artwork for a variety of physical substrates and materials.
- An exceptional eye for detail and the ability to identify issues before they make it into production.
- Ability to clearly communicate production requirements and collaborate with vendors and cross-functional partners.
- A portfolio demonstrating real-world production work, particularly examples showing how you translated creative concepts into final, manufacturable products.
Why This Role?
This isn't a role where you'll simply be pushing pixels around.
You'll have the opportunity to work at the intersection of creative, product development and manufacturing, helping bring beloved characters, stories and experiences to life across physical products. Your work will ultimately be seen and experienced by a passionate global fanbase.
If you love the challenge of taking a great creative concept and figuring out exactly how to make it work in the real world, we'd love to hear from you.
