Copywriter II
This role develops compelling, strategic, and audience-centric copy across the full range of digital, social, and traditional channels. As an experienced individual contributor, the Copywriter II demonstrates strong conceptual thinking, sound writing judgment, and the adaptability to move fluidly across brand voices, managing projects from brief through final delivery with minimal supervision. The work plays a critical part in delivering creative solutions that support client objectives, strengthen brand storytelling, and elevate the agency's creative output.
You take ownership of your work and outcomes, proactively identify challenges and opportunities, collaborate across cross-functional teams, and contribute to improvements in creative processes and team effectiveness. This position reports to the Associate Creative Director, Copywriter.

Team Schedule & Location
In general, Sales Factory working hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:30 pm. At the Sales Factory, overall, we operate in a hybrid work environment where the majority of the team reports to the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays and works remotely Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. This position will report t o our Greensboro office in alignment with our hybrid schedule.
At Sales Factory, an effective Copywriter II is expected to:
- Independently develop clear, compelling, strategic, and audience-focused copy across web, social, email, e-commerce, print, and other relevant channels.
- Craft platform-native social media copy that drives engagement and reflects current trends, formats, and best practices across major channels.
- Own assigned copywriting projects from creative brief through final delivery, ensuring work is completed accurately, effectively, and on time.
- Translate creative briefs, client objectives, audience insights, and strategic direction into compelling messaging and creative concepts with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrate strong conceptual thinking, originality, and sound creative judgment across a range of client assignments and business objectives.
- Develop messaging that reflects a deep understanding of client brand voice, positioning, audience segmentation, and communication goals.
- Confidently adapt tone, style, structure, and messaging across different brands, audiences, industries, and platforms.
- Conduct research on client industries, audiences, competitors, products, services, and emerging trends to strengthen creative recommendations.
- Use data, research, audience insights, and performance information to inform messaging decisions and improve creative effectiveness.
- Collaborate closely with Art Directors, Designers, Marketing, Digital, Insights, and other cross-functional partners to develop integrated creative solutions.
- Serve as a reliable creative partner by communicating clearly, anticipating needs, and helping maintain alignment across stakeholders.
- Manage multiple projects and competing priorities independently, proactively communicating risks, resource needs, or timeline concerns before they impact deliverables.
- Exercise sound judgment in determining when to move work forward independently and when to seek direction, clarification, or escalation.
- Make thoughtful recommendations regarding messaging, creative direction, content structure, channel execution, and opportunities to strengthen client outcomes.
- Apply SEO, accessibility, grammar, style, brand, and digital content best practices consistently across deliverables.
- Maintain a high standard of accuracy, consistency, and quality while keeping work aligned with client objectives and creative strategy.
- Embrace feedback and revisions as part of the creative process, using sound judgment to independently strengthen work.
- Identify opportunities to improve copywriting workflows, templates, processes, standards, and tools.
- Share relevant industry insights, creative inspiration, and lessons learned, and support the development of less experienced team members through informal knowledge sharing and constructive feedback.
- Proactively expand subject matter expertise and stay informed about changes in the creative, marketing, advertising, content, and AI landscape.
- Demonstrate strong alignment with Sales Factory values and contribute positively to a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous learning, and creative excellence.
- Take ownership of professional development by identifying opportunities to strengthen skills, expand capabilities, and increase impact.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing, Advertising, or a related field preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of professional copywriting or equivalent experience; relevant agency, freelance, or comparable experience may be considered.
- A compelling portfolio demonstrating strong conceptual thinking, storytelling, strategic writing, and cross-channel work.
- Demonstrated experience writing for social media, with an understanding of platform-specific formats, audiences, and engagement drivers.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage copywriting assignments from initial brief through final delivery.
- Strong understanding of brand voice, positioning, audience segmentation, messaging strategy, and content development.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt writing style, tone, and messaging across multiple brands, industries, audiences, and platforms.
- Strong understanding of content strategy, SEO, accessibility, and digital content best practices.
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate insights into effective creative work.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and communicate recommendations clearly.
- Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, accountability, and the ability to proactively identify and resolve challenges.
- Highly self-motivated, adaptable, detail-oriented, and committed to producing high-quality work.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and relevant collaboration and creative tools.
- Ability to work in accordance with our hybrid work policy and travel as required for client engagements, presentations, and agency initiatives.
