About GO FAR
GO FAR is a 23 year old youth health and fitness nonprofit based in High Point, NC. We serve thousands of students, families, and teachers across 63+ schools and community sites in five Piedmont Triad counties (Guilford, Forsyth, Alamance, Randolph, and Davidson), using running as a tool to build confidence, healthy habits, and character in kids.
Position Summary
The Marketing & Communications Manager owns the Story, everything the public sees. This role leads GO FAR's brand presence, storytelling, and public communications, making sure every donor, sponsor, family, and community member understands GO FAR's impact and feels inspired to support its mission. This position partners closely with the Events & Operations Manager, using the event calendar and event details to plan content and coverage, and works closely with the Executive Director on overall messaging and brand strategy.
Core Responsibilities
Brand & Storytelling
- Own GO FAR's brand presence and ensure consistency across all channels.
- Develop and lead GO FAR's storytelling strategy.
- Plan content calendars around GO FAR's programs and events.
Digital & Social Media
- Lead social media strategy and content creation.
- Manage website updates and content.
Content Production
- Coordinate photography and video for events and programs (personal equipment/skills a plus, not required).
- Lead graphic design for GO FAR materials and campaigns.
Donor & Sponsor Communications
- Produce newsletters and donor facing communications.
- Manage sponsorship fulfillment and deliverables.
- Support donor stewardship through storytelling and impact communications.
Fundraising Support
- Write and manage grant proposals in support of GO FAR's fundraising goals.
Media Relations & Community Engagement
- Manage media relations and public communications.
- Support community engagement through outreach and storytelling.
Collaboration
- Meet weekly with the Events & Operations Manager to align content and coverage plans with the event calendar.
- Work closely with the Executive Director on overall messaging and brand strategy.

Position Impact
The Marketing & Communications Manager shapes how the public understands and experiences GO FAR. By owning the organization's brand, content, and storytelling, this role builds the donor and community connection that fuels GO FAR's growth and ensures GO FAR's impact is seen, understood, and supported.
Compensation
This position is structured around approximately 8 to 10 hours of work per week on average across the year, at an annual rate of $16,500. Hours fluctuate seasonally, with increased engagement during race preparation periods and reduced hours during off peak seasons.
