Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced communications professional to join a dynamic marketing team supporting a portfolio of energy efficiency programs. This role is central to developing compelling, audience-appropriate content across a wide range of channels and materials — from promotional copy and program bulletins to digital and print marketing assets. The ideal candidate brings a strong editorial instinct, a collaborative spirit, and the organizational discipline to manage multiple concurrent projects with competing deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Develop concepts and write clear, engaging copy for a wide variety of marketing and communications projects, including articles, bulletins, and promotional materials
- Consult with marketing representatives and subject matter experts to gather project requirements, including tone, style, audience, and length of copy
- Manage incoming project requests through Microsoft Planner, coordinating directly with internal customers to clarify scope and expectations
- Translate project briefs into polished, on-brand copy and prepare final content in Adobe tools for submission to the design team
- Serve as a key point of contact for the design team, answering questions and providing guidance throughout the production process
- Proof and review all materials to ensure they meet established quality, brand, and compliance standards before final delivery
- Edit and rewrite copy quickly in response to feedback, revisions, or changing requirements
- Demonstrate creativity and the ability to adapt language, voice, and tone based on audience, product, and communication channel
- Write accurately and clearly about quantitative program information, including energy savings figures, rebate amounts, and related program benefits
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines without sacrificing quality
- Participate in weekly team meetings and contribute to a collaborative, solutions-oriented team culture
Skills
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong command of grammar, style, and tone
- Ability to vary voice and messaging effectively across audiences, products, and communication mediums
- Comfort working with numerical data and translating figures into clear, reader-friendly copy
- Familiarity with basic marketing communications metrics and success indicators across channels such as email, digital, and print
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, Planner, and Tasks
- Working knowledge of Adobe tools as used in a marketing production environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with internal clients and cross-functional teams
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering polished, standards-compliant materials
Experience
- 5 to 10 years of professional experience in communications, copywriting, content development, or a closely related field
- Demonstrated experience developing content for marketing or communications programs, not limited to business or administrative communications roles
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Prior experience working within a structured content review and production workflow is strongly preferred
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field required
