Job Description
Contract B2B Copywriter
Contract | 20–30 Hours/Week | Remote
Initial Duration: 2–3 Months | Potential for Extension or Full-Time Conversion
About The Opportunity
Our higher ed client is seeking an experienced
B2B Copywriter to provide contract support to its marketing team. This opportunity is opening due to an upcoming team member retirement and anticipated increased content needs.
The Copywriter will develop compelling, audience-focused content across a variety of marketing channels and formats, including website copy, digital advertising, blogs, and longer-form corporate content.
We are looking for more than a strong executor. The ideal candidate is a
mid-to-senior-level writer and strategic thinker who can understand the objective behind an assignment, contribute to creative briefs and messaging direction, and translate complex ideas into clear, engaging, human-centered content.
This is a fully remote engagement expected to require approximately
20–30 hours per week for an initial 2–3 months, with the potential to extend or convert to a full-time opportunity based on business needs.
What You’ll Do
- Develop high-quality B2B marketing copy across multiple channels and formats, including:
- Website and landing page copy
- LinkedIn and digital advertising
- Blog posts and thought leadership
- Long-form corporate and marketing content
- Additional campaign and brand communications
- Adapt writing style, tone, and messaging for different audiences, objectives, and stages of the customer journey.
- Partner with marketing stakeholders to understand business goals and translate them into compelling content.
- Contribute strategic thinking to creative briefs, messaging development, and content direction, rather than simply executing against predetermined copy.
- Help evolve and maintain a consistent brand voice while ensuring content feels human, approachable, and authentic.
- Apply foundational SEO principles to digital and web content.
- Edit, refine, and review content for clarity, consistency, accuracy, and effectiveness.
- Manage multiple assignments and priorities in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.
What We’re Looking For
- Mid-to-senior-level copywriting experience with a strong portfolio of B2B marketing work.
- Demonstrated ability to write effectively across a broad range of formats, from short-form digital advertising to long-form content.
- Strong understanding of how messaging should shift based on audience, channel, and business objective.
- Ability to think strategically and contribute ideas, recommendations, and perspective during the briefing and content-development process.
- Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and move projects forward with limited oversight.
- Basic understanding of SEO and digital content best practices.
- A writing style that is clear, engaging, conversational, and distinctly human.
AI & Writing Approach
Workforce Edge embraces thoughtful use of AI as a productivity tool. AI may be used to support activities such as brainstorming, tone checks, editing, and content review.
However,
original thinking, strong writing skills, sound judgment, and human creativity are essential to this role. The Copywriter should be comfortable using AI as a tool while maintaining ownership of the ideas, strategy, and quality of the final work.
