Role Details:
Our client is seeking a Technical Writer to support cybersecurity compliance and governance initiatives. This individual will partner closely with security leadership and subject matter experts to develop, maintain, and organize critical compliance documentation related to cybersecurity programs and regulatory frameworks.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical writing skills with experience supporting information security, governance, risk, and compliance (GRC), audit readiness, or regulatory initiatives. This individual will play a key role in helping document policies, procedures, control evidence, and compliance artifacts across multiple security programs.
Day to Day:
- Develop, edit, and maintain cybersecurity policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines
- Create and organize compliance documentation supporting cybersecurity initiatives
- Gather information from security leaders and subject matter experts and transform it into clear, actionable documentation
- Document business processes, workflows, controls, and operational procedures
- Support compliance programs by maintaining evidence, artifacts, and audit documentation
- Assist with policy lifecycle management, including updates and version control
- Create process diagrams, SOPs, training documentation, and user guides as needed
- Ensure documentation aligns with organizational standards and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with Information Security, Compliance, and Risk teams to support ongoing initiatives
Must Haves:
- 3+ years of technical writing experience
- Knowledge of cybersecurity framework NIST 800-53
- Experience creating policies, procedures, SOPs, or compliance documentation
- Strong written communication and documentation skills
- Experience gathering requirements and information from stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Bachelor's degree or associates + 3 years experience
Plusses:
- Experience supporting Information Security, Cybersecurity, Risk, Compliance, or Audit functions
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as:
- NIST Cybersecurity Framework
- NIST 800-171
- CMMC
- PCI
- ISO 27001
- Experience within Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) environments
- Experience creating policy and control documentation
- Familiarity with audit preparation and compliance evidence collection
- ServiceNow experience preferred
Compensation:
$35/hr to $50/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
