OVERVIEW
We're looking for a Social Media Manager to own our day-to-day presence across Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube. You'll develop social strategies, the posting schedule, write social copy, manage community engagement, run small paid ad campaigns on primary platforms, and produce lighter-lift content and edits as needed (majority of assets will come from our in-house creative and content teams). This is a contractor role for someone who lives and breathes social, understands streetwear and soccer culture, and can move quickly within a startup environment.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Own and execute the social media calendar across Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube, ensuring consistent posting cadence and brand voice (~3-7 posts per week on Instagram & TikTok, ~2-3 posts per week on X, ~2-4 videos on YouTube per month).
- Manage community engagement, responding to comments, DMs, and interactions as well as commenting on and interacting with brand-relevant content on primary platforms (Instagram and TikTok).
- Run a small paid ads operation (2-4 active ads on Instagram & TikTok), managing targeting, spend, and creative rotation with support from Head of Marketing.
- Produce lighter-lift content and edits independently (captions, reels, stitches, story graphics). The majority of hero assets will be provided by the creative team.
- Collaborate closely with the key stakeholders to align posting with product drops, events, and campaigns.
- Monitor and report on performance metrics (reach, engagement, follower growth, ad performance) with a monthly summary and recommendations.
- Stay abreast of platform algorithm changes, trending formats, and cultural moments relevant to streetwear and soccer.
- Support influencer and ambassador content coordination, tracking posting commitments and ensuring reposts/amplification happen on time.
- Develop and present social strategies for each platform every 2-3 months.
QUALIFICATIONS
- An understanding of NYC culture and a passion for both soccer and fashion is a must.
- 2+ years of experience managing social media for a consumer brand, ideally in streetwear, sports, fashion, or lifestyle.
- Demonstrated experience running paid social campaigns on Instagram and TikTok; familiarity with Meta Ads Manager and TikTok Ads Manager.
- Strong content instincts. You know what stops the scroll, what sounds authentic, and what's already overdone.
- Comfortable producing light edits and content natively in-app or with tools like CapCut, Adobe Express, or similar.
- Analytical mindset. You track numbers, know what they mean, and can translate insights into strategy and actions.
- Strong written communication and a sharp eye for brand voice consistency.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own time and deadlines without hand-holding.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required
PERSONALITY
- PLATFORM NATIVE: You instinctively know what works on each platform and adapt content accordingly — what lands on TikTok isn't the same as what works on IG or X.
- CULTURALLY PLUGGED IN: You're genuinely embedded in streetwear, soccer, and youth culture. You're not researching it — you're living it.
- FAST AND PRECISE: You move quickly, hit deadlines, and maintain quality. Startup pace doesn't faze you.
- CREATIVE EYE: You have aesthetic sensibility and can recognise great content — and produce passable content yourself when needed.
- ANALYTICAL: You use data to learn and improve, not just to report. You know what's working and why.
- PROACTIVE: You flag opportunities, suggest ideas, and bring energy to the work — you don't wait to be told what to post.
- COLLABORATIVE: You work well with creatives, founders, and operators alike, and understand how social fits into the broader brand machine.
