Sports Beat Writer – South Davis County
Do you live for Friday night lights and local athletics? The Davis Journal is looking for a passionate, talented sports writer to capture the stories, players, and games that define South Davis County.
What You’ll Do
As a freelance beat writer, you’ll be the voice of our local sports scene. You’ll be responsible for interviewing athletes and coaches, attending games, and crafting compelling, accurate reports that keep our readers connected to their community.

What We’re Looking For
- Passion for Sports: You have a genuine interest in local athletics and a knack for storytelling.
- Reliability: You are a stickler for deadlines and communicate clearly.
- Technical Skill: You possess advanced knowledge of grammar, spelling, and AP Style.
- Independence: You are comfortable performing your own research and managing your own beat with little supervision.
