Social Media Content Creator, Full-Time Exempt
Founded in 2003, GiGi's Playhouse Inc.’s mission is to change the way the world views Down syndrome and send a global message of acceptance for all. We profoundly change lives through national campaigns, educational programs, and by empowering individuals with Down syndrome, their families, and the community. All programs are free and are therapeutic or educational in nature. Each one of our programs is designed to work on specific skill development, including speech and language, literacy, socialization, and fine and gross motor skills. GiGi’s Playhouse currently has opened over 60+ locations across North America and growing by several locations annually.
Our work is joyful, meaningful, fast-moving, and deeply human — and our social media presence should reflect that.
Position Summary:
GiGi’s Playhouse, Inc. is seeking a creative-first Social Media Content Creator to bring our mission to life through visually compelling, emotionally resonant, and high-performing social media content.
This is a hands-on content creation role for someone who sees moments everywhere — who can capture a powerful photo, turn a quick video into an engaging Reel, design a beautiful Canva post, and understand why content performs across platforms.
Reporting to the VP of Marketing & PR and serving as a key member of the National Marketing Team, this role is responsible for creating, publishing, and optimizing original social media content for GiGi’s Playhouse National Headquarters. This role may also support content creation for Nancy Gianni, Founder of GiGi’s Playhouse, and GiGi Gianni, the organization’s namesake and chief inspiration.
While strategic thinking and scheduling are part of the role, creation is the priority. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, is organized but adaptable to changing priorities, and collaborates openly, giving and receiving feedback to sharpen ideas and elevate team outcomes.
Essential Job Functions:
Content Creation (Primary Focus)
- Transform raw moments, events, and stories into polished, on-brand social media assets.
- Capture original photo and video content that reflects the heart, joy, and impact of GiGi’s Playhouse.
- Design visually engaging social media posts using Canva (required).
- Create short-form video content and reels using tools such as Instagram Edits, CapCut, or Premiere Pro (required).
- Produce and optimize graphics, videos, reels, stories, and multimedia content for each social media platform.
Social Media Execution & Strategy
- Publish and manage content across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, and YouTube.
- Maintain and manage a national social media content calendar.
- Support Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok Stories with timely, engaging content.
- Stay current on platform trends, formats, and best practices to keep content fresh and relevant.
- Monitor and document performance metrics and adjust content based on engagement and results.
- Utilize Hootsuite for scheduling and reporting.
- Support UTM tracking and performance measurements.
Community & Collaboration:
- Engage with followers in a positive, inclusive, and mission-aligned manner for both the National Headquarters and each of the 60+ Playhouse platforms, as well as other Down syndrome organizations.
- Collaborate with the National Marketing Team to support national and local campaigns, initiatives, and awareness efforts with targeted social media content.
- Build and oversee community ambassador programs, partnering with influencers, self-advocates, and families within the Down syndrome community to create and share authentic, mission-aligned content on behalf of GiGi’s Playhouse.
- Guide and support local Playhouses with social media best practices, as needed.
- Maintain proficiency in PowerPoint to manage and present social media decks and reporting.
