About the Role
We are looking for a savvy Social Media Manager & Community Manager to join our growing team. Reporting directly to the Brand Lead, this is not a traditional corporate social media role where you simply schedule posts behind a calendar. You will be the voice, pulse, and energy behind Saint Rocco’s social presence and grassroots brand-building efforts, bringing the brand to life by capturing content, activating local dog-loving communities, and turning online interactions into deep, real-world relationships.
We operate as a small, scrappy startup team where no task is too small, timelines move fast, and everyone wears multiple hats. Because we are growing quickly, this role requires an entrepreneurial spirit and a high degree of comfort with ambiguity. You should be highly adaptable, comfortable taking loose campaign briefs, and excited to jump between high-level content strategy and hands-on, real-world execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Social Media & Content Execution: Own the monthly social content calendar and publish across all primary channels (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn). Write compelling copy in the authentic Saint Rocco's voice, identify emerging trends, and collaborate with our designer and creator network to produce high-impact, short-form video and visual content.
- Community Management: Actively cultivate Saint Rocco's digital community by managing comments, DMs, and replies with warmth and responsiveness. Turn customer love into impactful user-generated content (UGC), testimonials, and referrals while managing our Devotee Club.
- Grassroots Activations & Field Marketing: Plan, coordinate, and host vibrant community events—such as dog walks, sampling days, and pop-up activations, to drive brand momentum and turn physical footprint events into engaging digital content.
- Retail & Omnichannel Support: Directly support our independent retail, wholesale, and DTC business channels by highlighting store partners, executing retail-specific digital initiatives, and amplifying local community wins.
- Performance Tracking: Monitor cross-platform social analytics, engagement metrics, and community growth to continuously refine our content strategy and messaging.
What Your Background Looks Like
- 3+ years of professional experience managing social media, content creation, field marketing, or community building, ideally for a fast-growing CPG, pet, food/beverage, wellness, or lifestyle brand.
- Outstanding writing and communication skills with the ability to naturally channel a premium, warm, playful, and distinct brand voice.
- Hands-on experience capturing and editing compelling short-form video content (TikTok/Reels) and utilizing creative mobile tools.
- A proactive, self-starting work style. You thrive in a nimble, founder-led startup environment, seamlessly navigating ambiguous projects and quick turnarounds without losing attention to detail.
What You're Familiar With
- Deep operational knowledge of native social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, Reddit) alongside publishing and reporting tools (e.g., Later, Sprout Social).
- Proficiency with quick-turn content tools like Canva, CapCut, or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Familiarity with influencer/ambassador platform management, local event planning, Shopify, Klaviyo, or SEO-informed blog writing is a strong plus.
What Success Looks Like
- First 30 Days: Fully absorb the Saint Rocco’s brand voice and guidelines, take ownership of the day-to-day social calendar, and seamlessly manage community DMs and engagement while establishing a tight workflow with the Brand Lead and Designer.
- First 90 Days: Take full ownership of our end-to-end social strategy, launching a series of consistent, repeatable content buckets across TikTok and Instagram. Successfully plan and execute your first local community dog walk or retail sampling activation, turning it into a high-engagement digital story.
- Beyond: Establish Saint Rocco’s as the most loved, interactive, and community-first pet brand on social media. You will build a self-sustaining ecosystem of passionate customers, retail partners, and brand advocates, turning digital metrics into real-world business growth.
