Role Description This is a part-time, hybrid Social Media Manager role based in Atlanta, GA, with flexibility to work from home for part of the week. The Social Media Manager will plan, create, and publish engaging content across platforms such as Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube, aligned with the organization’s brand and AI-focused mission. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and executing social media campaigns, scheduling posts, monitoring comments and messages, and engaging with the community to grow reach and retention. The role will analyze performance metrics, prepare simple reports, and recommend improvements to content and posting strategies. The Social Media Manager will collaborate with internal stakeholders to promote events, learning resources, and initiatives, ensuring consistent messaging and visual identity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Content Creation: capture photos and videos at our weekly “Film Bar AI” meet-ups at Halidom Eatery, bi-weekly AIMG Wednesday Workshops at Georgia Tech’s ATDC, and bi-annual AIMG Cohorts at the Russell Innovation Center for Entreprenuers (RICE). (Only 1hr of on-site labor required per event.)
- Content Delivery: Edit and deliver high-quality reels, carousels, stories, and videos in various aspect ratios (1:1, 9:16, 16:9) ready for posting by each weekly deadline.
- Reliability: Commitment to attending mandatory events. Consistency us required; in the event of an impending absence, you are responsible for coordinating a qualified replacement.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Social Media Marketing and Social Media Optimization (SMO), including platform-specific best practices and audience engagement tactics.
- Ability to develop and implement effective Content Strategy tailored to different social platforms and audience segments.
- Excellent Writing and Communication skills, with the ability to create clear, concise, and compelling posts, captions, and short-form copy.
- Experience using social media management and analytics tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Meta Business Suite, native platform analytics).
- Demonstrated ability to interpret social media metrics and adjust content or posting schedules based on insights.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple platforms and campaigns in a part-time schedule.
- Comfort collaborating in a hybrid environment, including virtual meetings and in-person sessions in Atlanta, GA.
- Previous experience in tech, AI, or education-focused organizations is a plus, as is familiarity with basic AI concepts and trends.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or equivalent practical experience preferred.
