About Bigger Than Sports
Bigger Than Sports is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering student athletes and underserved youth through peer-to-peer mentorship delivered directly in the classroom. We believe sports are a gateway and that the lessons learned through athletics can transform communities when young people are given the right support and platforms to lead.
Role Overview
We're looking for a motivated, creative media intern to support the growth and visibility of Bigger Than Sports. You'll contribute across content creation, strategic media planning and event-specific execution, and outreach efforts that connect our mission with sponsors, supporters and community members.
Responsibilities
- Create and post compelling social media content that reflects the Bigger Than Sports brand and mission
- Develop long-term media plans aligned with our general education programming and ongoing initiatives
- Build and execute event-specific media requirements for tournaments, classroom programs and community events
- Conduct media outreach to potential sponsors, event attendees and community partners
- Contribute to the overall promotion and visibility of the Bigger Than Sports brand across platforms
Requirements
- Ability to commit to 4-8 hours per week
- Proficiency in Canva for content creation
- Highly organized with strong time management skills
- Responsive, efficient and receptive to feedback
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduated with or pursuing a degree or concentration in social media, marketing or a related field
- Prior experience in social media management, marketing or a related internship
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop or Premiere Pro
- Photography/videography experience
- Video editing experience
