Part-Time Editor
Location: Remote Type: Part-Time Contract, with potential for expanded scope
Reports to: Senior Research Team / CEO
The Role
We are seeking a part-time editor to support ongoing research projects and client-facing deliverables across geopolitical, political, and strategic risk themes. This role is ideal for someone with exceptional editorial judgment, strong writing instincts, and a deep interest in China, global affairs, and emerging risk issues.
The editor will work closely with researchers and leadership to refine analytical content into clear, concise, and polished client-ready deliverables for senior decision-makers. This includes improving clarity, structure, readability, and overall presentation while ensuring consistency in tone, argumentation, sourcing, and editorial quality across deliverables.

Key Responsibilities
· Edit reports, briefings, memos, and other client-facing deliverables for clarity, accuracy, tone, and consistency
· Improve structure, readability, and flow across analytical and research-driven content
· Review materials for grammar, style, formatting, and factual consistency
· Collaborate with researchers to strengthen arguments and presentation of analysis
· Ensure consistency in tone, argumentation, sourcing, and editorial quality across deliverables
· Help translate complex geo-political and strategic issues into accessible, decision-useful analysis
· Help maintain editorial standards and consistency across recurring research products
· Support rapid-turnaround editing needs for client requests and time-sensitive deliverables
· Assist with presentation formatting and external-facing written materials when needed
Required Experience & Qualifications
· Experience in editing, journalism, publishing, research, policy, communications, media, or related fields
· Exceptional written English skills and strong editorial judgment
· Ability to edit complex material into concise, client-ready language
· Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines independently
· Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
· Familiarity with AP, Chicago, or in-house editorial styles
· Experience with Canva, PowerPoint, or document design tools
Preferred Qualifications
· Familiarity with geopolitical, political, economic, or international affairs topics
· Experience editing analytical, policy, intelligence, financial, or geopolitical content
· Chinese language proficiency
