Aebly Media is a civic operating system that builds your political stance from what you actually do — read, vote, react. We're hiring our Founding Social Media Lead — the third person on this team, the voice of Aebly Media across every social channel, and a key part of how we go from launch to scale.
The Role
You will own social and brand for Aebly Media. Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, Threads. Not "post from a calendar" — set the voice, drive the strategy, ship daily.
This is a founding team role. You're in the room when decisions get made. You build the playbook.
This is the kind of role that becomes Head of Social or VP Marketing in 18 months — if you're the kind of person who treats it that way.
What you'll do
- Own all social channels — strategy, voice, content, community
- Ship daily across Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, and Threads
- Sit in on product, content, and partnership decisions
- Build the social and brand playbook from scratch
- Drive growth and engagement ahead of public launch

Compensation structure
- Months 1-3: $2,000/month contract role
- Month 3+: Full-time conversion with meaningful equity grant if it's a fit on both sides
- Cash compensation scales as we close our funding rounds

Trial period + conversion
The first 90 days are a real trial — both sides figure out if it's a fit before committing long-term. If it works, we convert you to full-time with equity. If it doesn't, no hard feelings on either side.

This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity during the 90-day trial period, not an employment position. Aebly Media LLC is hiring a contractor who maintains control over their own work, schedule, and methods. The contractor is responsible for their own taxes, equipment, and work conditions.
Compensation structure ($2,000/month trial rate, future full-time compensation, and equity grant) is offered as contractor compensation under written agreement during the trial period. Specific rates and equity terms are discussed individually and finalized in the contractor agreement signed before any work begins. The conversion to full-time employment after the 90-day trial is contingent on mutual agreement and is not guaranteed by this posting.
Either party may terminate the contractor relationship at any time, in accordance with the terms of the executed contractor agreement.
