Laguna Playhouse – Marketing Assistant (Seasonal, Part-Time, Non-Exempt)
Reports to: Marketing Manager (with day-to-day guidance from Marketing Coordinator)
Position Status: Part-time, Seasonal, Non-Exempt
Schedule: Up to 30 hours/week; occasional evenings/weekends for events (overtime paid per California law)
Compensation: $17.00 per hour. Mileage for required business travel will be reimbursed at the IRS standard mileage rate.
Location: Laguna Beach, CA (on-site with occasional off-site events)

Laguna Playhouse, a nationally acclaimed, non-profit professional theatre located steps from the Pacific Ocean in the vibrant arts community of Laguna Beach, CA, is seeking a part-time Marketing Assistant. This seasonal role is ideal for students or emerging professionals looking to build skills in arts marketing, email communications, digital organization, and social media support within a collaborative, creative environment.

Core Responsibilities
· Set up and organize digital folders and assets for the upcoming season
· Assist with drafting, formatting, and scheduling marketing emails
· Support the creation of evergreen marketing content (e.g., social templates, recurring website/blog content, reusable copy)
· Assist with social media planning and light content creation
· Help maintain marketing archives and ensure materials are properly labeled and stored
· Provide general administrative support for marketing initiatives
· Occasionally assist with on-site events or content gathering as needed (may include evenings/weekends; overtime paid where applicable)
Qualifications
· Strong organizational skills and comfort working in shared digital systems (e.g., Google Drive, Microsoft 365)
· Interest or experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact)
· Strong writing skills and attention to detail
· Basic familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok)
· Experience with Canva or simple design tools is a plus
· Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
· Ability to work occasional evenings/weekends for events
· Reliable transportation for occasional in-person needs; mileage will be reimbursed for required business travel
