Freelance | Hybrid Video Editor & Motion Artist
Part 4 is looking for a Freelance Hybrid Video Editor and Motion Graphics Artist to join our team. You'll be an integral member of the video production team, working on projects for some of the biggest entertainment brands in the world. You are an exceptional visual storyteller with a strong technical background across both editing and motion graphics, with a keen eye for detail and organization and the ability to move fluidly between disciplines as project needs demand.
You anticipate needs, find good communication invaluable, and multi-tasking energizes you to produce your best work. You watch movies and TV more than others and are excited to share that passion with the world.
Responsibilities Include:
- Conceptualize and develop world-class motion graphics, animations, and visual effects that enhance the visual storytelling of an edit, ensuring smooth transitions, proper pacing, and creative concepts that push the needle against campaign strategy.
- Translate complex creative ideas into cohesive, visually engaging stories that balance editorial pacing with dynamic motion design.
- Manage video edits for multiple concurrent campaigns, including footage selection, rough cuts, audio editing, color correction, clip swaps, and finalizing for delivery to a variety of clients and vendors.
- Apply a strong understanding of industry process and workflow, including VFX, live action integration, camera and object tracking, and 3D compositing, where applicable.
- Collaborate across a wide variety of teams, including art direction, strategy, project management, and creative leadership to reflect the client's vision and brand objectives, maintaining high creative standards, flawless execution, and timely delivery.
- Work closely with art directors and designers to ensure seamless integration of visual elements and motion graphics into all video deliverables.
- Troubleshoot and find timely solutions to support the needs of your projects across both edit and motion disciplines.
- Stay up to date on the latest editing and motion graphics trends, software updates, plugins, and industry best practices. An interest in and understanding of the latest social trends is required.
- Independently prioritize tasks and meet all deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- QA all work before sending to creative direction and production.
Skills / Qualifications:
- 3+ years working in a fast-paced agency or creative client environment. Entertainment experience is a plus.
- A robust knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects is required. Strong working knowledge of Photoshop is essential. Experience within 3D software is a plus (Cinema 4D, Blender, Maya).
- A strong understanding of video production techniques, including footage selection, editing, color correction, audio mixing, and visual effects.
- Proven ability to concept and execute motion graphics and animation that enhance narrative storytelling across a variety of formats and platforms.
- A strong sense of narrative structure, pacing, and visual storytelling techniques to create impactful and engaging content across both edit and motion disciplines.
- Strong communication skills to distill client and internal direction, ask clarifying questions, and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Familiarity with copyright laws, licensing agreements, and intellectual property rights related to video and audio content.
