Contract Copywriter Needed (Ecommerce)
About the Company
We’re looking for a strategic, concept-driven Copywriter to help bring campaigns, launches, and evergreen storytelling to life across every customer touchpoint. This is not an entry-level execution role. You’ll own major workstreams from idea through delivery—partnering closely with Creative, Brand, Growth, and eCommerce teams to craft messaging that is emotionally resonant, conversion-minded. You’ll report to the Senior Copywriter and play a critical role in shaping campaign narratives, testing new ideas, spotting cultural and market trends, and pushing our creative forward. The ideal candidate is equal parts storyteller and operator: someone who thinks strategically, writes beautifully, moves quickly, and isn’t afraid to speak up when they have a strong point of view.
About the Role
This role involves leading copy development for various campaigns and product launches while collaborating with multiple teams to ensure effective messaging.
Responsibilities
- Lead copy development for campaigns, product launches, and promotions across email, SMS, site, paid media, and organic social
- Partner with Creative to concept seasonal storytelling and big launch moments
- Own product storytelling in collaboration with eCommerce and Merchandising
- Bring forward fresh ideas rooted in market trends, cultural insights, and competitive awareness
- Write high-performing, conversion-focused copy while maintaining emotional brand storytelling
- Collaborate with Growth to iterate on A/B tests and AI-optimizations across channels
- Use AI tools thoughtfully to enhance ideation, speed, research, and optimization—while maintaining strong creative judgment
- Ensure consistency in brand voice across touchpoints while flexing messaging appropriately by channel
- Support SEO, blog content, influencer marketing, and paid media initiatives as needed
- Present ideas confidently in creative reviews and contribute meaningfully to brainstorming sessions
Qualifications
- 4–6 years of copywriting experience in a fast-paced DTC or eCommerce brand (apparel or lifestyle preferred)
- Strong portfolio demonstrating campaign thinking, product storytelling, and performance-driven copy
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects with overlapping timelines
- Clear understanding of writing for conversion across digital channels
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with creative, marketing, and growth teams
- Comfort using AI tools as a creative accelerator (not a replacement for thinking)
- Understanding of SEO fundamentals
- Strong instincts for cultural trends and evolving customer behavior
- High attention to detail with excellent grammar and editing skills
