We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and visually refined freelance content editor and designer to support our media and communications team.
This role focuses on editing video content, creating social media visuals, and ensuring a consistent and elevated brand presence across all materials. Our content reflects the standards of The Academy of Finance® and the Wall Street Master Class®, an immersive and selective program rooted in the real world of finance.
As our work sits at the intersection of finance, education, and culture, a genuine interest in financial markets and investing is essential. The ideal candidate will be comfortable engaging with market-related content and translating it into clear, compelling visual narratives aligned with a high-end, institutional aesthetic.
We are looking for someone with a strong sense of visual discipline and experience working with luxury brands or premium environments, who understands the importance of detail, restraint, and coherence in design.
Responsibilities
- Edit video content for social media, marketing, and digital platforms (short-form and long-form)
- Create and design social media content using provided footage, imagery, and captions
- Edit and enhance photography for use across digital channels
- Format and prepare content for publishing across platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.)
- Assist with graphic design needs, including marketing materials and print assets
- Ensure all content aligns with the visual standards and branding of Main Street Research and The Academy of Finance®
- Maintain consistency in typography, color, layout, and overall presentation
- Follow creative direction with precision and attention to detail
Requirements
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including:
- Adobe Premiere Pro (video editing)
- Adobe After Effects (motion graphics a plus)
- Adobe Photoshop (image editing)
- Adobe Illustrator (graphics and layout)
- Experience with Canva
- Strong understanding of social media formats and visual storytelling
- Demonstrated sense of aesthetic discipline and clean, refined design
- Experience working with luxury brands, premium institutions, or high-end visual environments is strongly preferred
- Ability to take direction and execute with precision
- High attention to detail and consistency across all deliverables
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Video Production (Preferred)
Experience in video production is a strong plus. Ideal candidates may also have experience with:
- Filming interviews and short-form content
- Managing basic lighting and sound for professional environments
- Directing or producing content on-site
- Photography and visual composition for editorial or brand use
