We are looking to add an expert designer to our creative team to elevate our brand's graphic design systems.
Boba Tea Protein creates nutritious and delicious boba protein powder drinks, combining authentic Asian-American flavors with high-quality, grass-fed whey sourced from ethically raised cows. Our mission is to make it simple to enjoy boba while promoting a healthy lifestyle. Using real ingredients, we capture the essence of traditional boba tea in every sip. We’re committed to offering innovative products that blend cultural authenticity with nutritional benefits.
We’re a small 12-person team with a wide range of experience—from seasoned industry veterans to those just beginning their careers.
Salary:
Salary Range: $80,000-$120,000 + Health benefits + Annual Performance Bonus
Overview:
As Brand Designer, you will be responsible for the following:
- Elevate the brand’s visual identity by developing a scroll-stopping, scalable design system and executing it across all website design, packaging, social campaigns, and physical experiences (e.g., trade show booths and pop-ups).
- This role requires a strong sense of high-level strategic thinking in marketing, with the ability to make research-informed design decisions and translate them into high-performing assets across a variety of platforms.
- Expert skills graphic design and photo re-touching skills will be required in tandem with expert use of Adobe Illustrator, Figma, and Adobe Photoshop.
- Moderate skills in video editing with Premiere Pro and After Effects, along with the ability to strategically using stock motion graphic assets to enhance content when needed.
- While graphic design is the core focus, candidates with additional experience in photography, video, and lighting will be highly valued. These skills will create opportunities to contribute to art direction and participate in content production.
The ideal candidate is highly passionate about brand building and is a conceptual, strategic, organized, and detail-oriented team collaborator. They have a deep understanding of our target audience and feels that they strongly know what our audience wants to see and experience.
This is a hands-on role where you must be able to collaborate effectively with creatives (art directors, photographers & videographers) social media managers, and influencer marketing team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Art Director and Director of Marketing on developing our graphic design systems.
- Re-building websites front end.
- Evolving our brand's design systems, codify it in a brand guide, and continue to build and maintain the guide.
- Streamline our brand's packaging design for separate product categories.
- Champion innovation by staying current with industry trends and design advancements, bringing fresh ideas and strategies to keep the brand dynamic and relevant.
- Assist with coordinating production days across multiple team members, models, hair and make-up artists, etc.
- Assist with all kinds of social content including, but not limited to, filming, concepting, and being in our TikTok content.
- An openness to hop into certain tasks or projects as needed within your skillset.
Experience and Key Skills:
- Well-versed in the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, InDesign, etc).
- Well-versed with Figma.
- Experience with a DSLR or Mirrorless camera (or have an eagerness to learn).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks that vary in complexity and urgency. Highly organized, task-oriented, and a team player.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment that adapts to changing priorities.
- Self-starter willing to work on team-based and independent projects. Minimum 3-5 years of experience.
Location:
This role will initially be fully remote. However, for candidates based in the Los Angeles / Southern California area, our marketing and creative team primarily operates in LA and regularly meets in person for photoshoots and influencer events. Attendance at some or all of these events would be expected.
If you are outside of the LA / SoCal area, then you'd be expected to fly in to assist with these events. These would take place approximately 1x per month.
Additionally, we are currently exploring the possibility of establishing a satellite office in the LA area, which could shift the role to a hybrid work model for locally based team members. While this is still under consideration and not yet confirmed, it is a potential future development.
Qualifications:
- No degree required, but degrees in creative advertising, visual communication, art direction, graphic design, illustration, or other relevant degree is preferred.
