About The Role
We're looking for a Video Editor & Content Producer who's fast, resourceful, and enthusiastic about putting out great content. Your primary job is editing — cutting batches of short-form videos (30 sec – 1 min) for social channels and editing longer documentary-style pieces (2–5 min) on a bi-weekly or monthly cadence. You'll ingest raw footage, keep media organized, and turn around polished content on tight timelines. When the moment calls for it, you'll pick up a camera and shoot. You'll also coordinate with contract videographers and outside talent, effectively acting as a co-producer to bring each piece across the finish line.
Editing here isn't just assembly. It's writing. Writing is what differentiates an OK story from a great one. We're telling the story of nuclear energy, a subject most people tune out, and turning it into something they can't look away from. The most important skill you bring is a sharp sense for narrative: knowing what makes a story land, what to cut, what to linger on, and how to make an audience care. This role sits in the marketing team, and is ideally based in Idaho Falls, ID to provide on-the-ground video support as Aalo builds its first reactor near Idaho National Laboratory.
What You'll Do
- Edit and deliver batches of short-form video content (30s–1 min) optimized for social media channels
- Edit and produce longer-form documentary and narrative video (2–10 min)
- Ingest, organize, and manage large volumes of raw footage and media assets, maintaining a clean and accessible project structure.
- Coordinate with contract videographers, freelance talent, and internal teams — functioning as a co-producer from pre-production through final delivery.
- Shoot video on-site as needed, including interviews, b-roll, company events, and construction progress at reactor sites.
- Perform sound editing, sound design, and sound effects work to ensure every piece sounds as good as it looks.
- Implement template pack motion-graphics, text, transitions
- Apply color grades to maintain a consistent, polished visual identity across all content.

- Comfortable operating professional camera equipment and shooting in the field when the situation demands it.
- Highly organized with proven ability to manage media assets, project files, and production timelines.
- Innovative user of AI who wants to leverage new tools and methods to increase editing throughput
- A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, startup environment
- Strong storytelling instincts — you understand pacing, structure, and how to make technical or industrial subjects emotionally engaging
