Role Description
We’re looking for an experienced Social Media Manager to join our team as a part-time contractor. This is not an entry-level position. We need someone who can hit the ground running — developing strategy, creating polished content, and managing multiple accounts with minimal oversight from day one.
In this role, you’ll own social media for both Headwater’s internal brand and our client accounts. You’ll work closely with our creative team to ensure every post, story, and reel aligns with the visual identity systems we build for our clients. What You'll Do
- Develop and execute social media strategies for Headwater Productions’ internal accounts and client accounts across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and emerging platforms
- Create compelling, on-brand content — graphics, captions, stories, and reels — tailored to each account’s audience, voice, and visual identity
- Plan, schedule, and publish content using industry-standard scheduling tools, maintaining consistent content calendars across all accounts
- Monitor all social accounts daily: engage with followers, respond to comments and messages, and manage community interactions professionally
- Collaborate with the creative team to align social content with photography, videography, and broader brand strategy
- Track performance metrics and report on KPIs; meet weekly and monthly goals for engagement, growth, and content output
- Stay ahead of social media trends, algorithm changes, and platform updates to keep our clients competitive
- Contribute fresh content ideas and creative concepts during brainstorming and planning sessions
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience managing social media accounts for brands or businesses — portfolio or account examples required
- Proficient in Canva and Adobe Creative Suite for creating high-quality visual content
- Strong content strategy skills with the ability to develop and execute plans that drive measurable results
- Proficiency with social media scheduling and management tools (Later, Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Planoly, or similar)
- Excellent copywriting skills with a sharp eye for detail, tone, and brand consistency
- Ability to analyze social media analytics and translate data into actionable strategies
- Strong organizational skills — comfortable managing multiple accounts and deadlines simultaneously
- Proven track record of consistently meeting deadlines — accountability and follow-through are non-negotiable
- Self-motivated and reliable; able to work independently while delivering on established goals
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a creative team
- Must be based in Nashville, TN (local candidates only)
- Flexible schedule with availability for collaborative meetings and time-sensitive content needs
Nice To Have
- Experience in real estate, property management, or luxury lifestyle branding
- Background in a creative studio or agency environment
- Familiarity with paid social advertising and boosted content strategies
- Experience with short-form video creation and editing (Reels, TikTok, Shorts)
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
Compensation & Details
- Rate: $25/hour
- Type: Part-time, 1099 independent contractor. Performance based potential to progress to full-time
- Location: Nashville, TN — local candidates only
- Schedule: Flexible with consistent weekly availability required
