A well-known fashion brand is seeking a Freelance Accessories Technical Designer to support the Accessories Design team during a key seasonal development period. This role will focus on executing brand-right, commercially driven product aligned to seasonal strategy, while partnering closely with Merchandising and Product Development to ensure strong market relevance and flawless execution.
Position Overview:
The Accessories Technical Designer will play a critical role in translating conceptual direction into technically sound, production-ready product. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, commercially minded, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative retail environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create brand-right, commercially viable accessories designs aligned with conceptual direction and business strategy
• Develop product with a strong focus on functionality, material execution, and quality
• Execute detailed design sketches, prototypes, and technical specifications
• Incorporate feedback efficiently to refine designs through final approval
• Present concepts and product direction to internal leadership and cross-functional teams
• Conduct competitive research and trend analysis to inform product innovation
• Partner closely with Merchandising and Product Development throughout the design lifecycle
• Identify and resolve development challenges proactively
• Manage timelines to ensure deliverables meet budget and schedule commitments
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Design or equivalent hands-on experience
• 5+ years of accessories Tech design experience in a retail environment
• Strong commercial fashion eye with exceptional attention to detail
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
• Experience with Centric PLM preferred
• Agile, solutions-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Team-oriented with the ability to adapt quickly and manage multiple priorities
