A leading media and entertainment company is seeking a Social Media Manager to join its Brand Social Media team on a temporary contract to cover a parental leave. This role will support the social media publishing strategy across brand and priority programming accounts.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned Social Media Manager with a proven ability to optimize publishing strategies using data and performance metrics. This person is an internet native with a strong pulse on digital trends and emerging platforms, and excels at optimizing content for maximum reach and engagement across social channels. Experience supporting social strategy for a major media company or direct-to-consumer streaming service is a strong plus.
What you’ll do:
- Manage a team of coordinators to strategically publish content across social platforms, ensuring impeccable attention to detail, tone, and grammar
- Oversee content calendars for multiple social profiles across platforms
- Partner with Directors and Senior Managers to maintain and evolve social publishing strategies
- Build organic social promotion strategies for priority titles, campaigns, cultural moments, and audience segments
- Collaborate with editorial and marketing teams to develop social content plans across brand and audience profiles
- Document social strategies and rollout plans for internal alignment and leadership visibility
- Engage with audiences across brand and cluster accounts, identifying opportunities to enhance community management efforts
- Collaborate with broader portfolio social teams on cross-brand campaigns
- Own engagement and growth goals for campaign performance and content reach
- Use data and insights to inform content mix, posting cadence, partnerships, and talent collaborations
- Identify creative opportunities to leverage talent and emerging platforms to drive fan engagement
- Pitch innovative ideas to expand social presence on new and emerging platforms
- Review and approve social assets (video, imagery, copy) for accuracy, quality, and brand voice
What to bring:
- 2–4 years of experience in social media management for a major brand or public figure
- Proven success driving social strategy based on performance insights and analytics
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with high-performing teams
- Excellent creative, editorial, and brand judgment
- Deep understanding of major social platforms and their unique audiences and best practices
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders
- Experience with social publishing and reporting tools such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Sprinklr, Khoros, CrowdTangle, Meta Business Manager, or similar
- Impeccable written communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving digital environment
