well-known fashion brand is seeking a
Freelance Intimates Technical Designer to support the team onsite in Manhattan. This individual contributor role is responsible for executing the technical design process from development through final fit, ensuring products meet established fit, quality, and cost standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute the technical design process from development to final fit
- Analyze garments and develop accurate fit specifications
- Write and communicate detailed fit comments and pattern corrections to vendors and factories
- Participate in and/or lead fit sessions
- Maintain and update tech packs, BOMs, and approval records
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Product Development, and Sourcing teams
- Ensure products align with fit standards, manufacturer capabilities, and cost targets
- Make appropriate adjustments with factories to maintain design integrity and quality
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of technical design experience; intimates experience strongly preferred (plus-size experience a plus)
- Proven ability to independently own fittings and clearly communicate fit comments
- Experience guiding or directing Assistant or Associate Technical Designers
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion or equivalent hands-on experience
