Would you like to combine your skills and passion for ~10 hours/week to help the Plant Club continue to grow and make the world a better place for gardeners, sharing our collective knowledge about plants on social media?

The North Shore Plant Club (northshoreplantclub.com) — located (thus far) in the Chicago suburbs — helps our friends and neighbors by providing gardening advice and pro-quality, affordable plants. More plant friends equals more fun, so we could use someone to help us better share the work we’re doing so we can get more plants and more gardening to more people!
We believe we have some great building blocks for taking the next step on social media:
- Thousands of lovely plants which come each week
- Hundreds of lists of the best, most popular, award-winning plants and information about these plants, including the pros and cons of the types of plants grown in Chicagoland
- Content about/from our garden coaches and the hosts of our local pickup sites: lists of the team members’ favorite plants, tips, photos, and more
- Answers to the questions people most frequently ask us
- Interesting tools and resources: recipes for common gardening situations, interactive photos to see how plants look together, a plant color wheel, and more.
- Regular online coffee chats and in-person events
- Awesome plants and pre-built containers from January through October... fresh from the nursery at less than retail prices right in your neighborhood, the sale of which allows us do all this other cool stuff.
We’re looking for someone who will:
- Help us create a strong social media presence and strategy
- Use your passion and experience to grow our ‘stalk-ers’, spreading the word about the Plant Club, our products and events
- Create a compelling content calendar that helps the Plant Club stay “top of mind” all season long, while efficiently sharing relevant plant/gardening information at appropriate times
- Collect, curate, create and post great content
- Interact online with a community of plant lovers
As our Social Media Cultivator, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Keep learning about plants and gardening
- Help us continue making the world a better place for people who love gardening
- Use your experience to help spread the word about plants, gardening, and the Plant Club.
- Talk to lots of other people who are as passionate as you are

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
You’ll have:
- A history of proven social media success, creating and managing appropriate social media channels
- Demonstrated ability to create effective educational and promotional content for those channels
- Engaged in the community and efficiently promoted existing content
- A passion for plants, gardening, and the out-of-doors.
- Live in the Chicagoland area so you can personally see what we’re doing and get a great discount on plants for your own garden.
