Social Media Content Creator / On Camera Personality (Freelance, Local to Chicago)

Joycoast is a Chicago based lifestyle brand looking for a creative, outgoing content creator to help us capture fun, engaging, behind the scenes social media content. This is an in person role with weekly filming sessions at our Lincoln Park store.
You will meet with the founder once per week, typically Mondays or Tuesdays, to batch film content for 3 to 5 hours. Content includes product features, behind the scenes moments, and personality driven videos that feel real, entertaining, and not overly polished. Think business social media that performs well organically and occasionally goes viral.
Your role is focused on ideation and filming, not editing. We have a social media manager who handles video editing and posting. You will help brainstorm ideas, lightly script concepts, film content in store, and upload raw footage for our editor. Some weeks you may also create content by filming with team members, customers, or friends when the founder is unavailable. Comfort being on camera is important.
You may also spend a small portion of your time connecting with local influencers to help build awareness, staying within the weekly hour range.
We’re looking for someone who is creative, fun, comfortable on camera, reliable, and has a strong feel for short form video on Instagram and TikTok. Must be local to Chicago. Having your own equipment is a plus, but we also provide iPhones, mics, a DJI Osmo, and a Canon Rebel T7i.
This role has strong potential to grow over time and offers creative freedom, flexible scheduling, and the chance to help shape the voice of a fast growing, eco conscious brand.
