About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Social Media Specialist / Manager (Independent Contractor) to support ongoing social media execution for multiple client accounts. This role is ideal for a contractor who has the capacity to take on a consistent volume of project work from the start, with the opportunity to expand their workload over time as client demand and performance allow.
You will collaborate with our internal team while maintaining autonomy over how you manage your schedule and workflow to complete assigned projects.
Scope of WorkYou will be responsible for executing agreed-upon social media deliverables, which may include:
- Managing and executing social media calendars across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.)
- Designing and producing branded graphics using Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite
- Writing captions aligned with each client’s brand voice
- Scheduling and publishing content using Later, Meta Business Suite, or platform-native tools
- Organizing and maintaining digital content libraries (photos, video clips, brand assets)
- Monitoring trends, reels formats, and platform updates
- Supporting community engagement where applicable
- Providing basic performance insights and reporting
- Participating in collaborative content planning sessions as needed
Deliverables, timelines, and volume of work will be defined on a per-project or per-account basis.
Qualifications- 2+ years of experience managing brand social media accounts (agency experience preferred)
- Proficiency with scheduling platforms such as Later or Meta Business Suite
- Strong Canva skills; working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or Premiere Pro preferred
- Strong understanding of social-first design, aesthetic curation, and content trends
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to adapt to different brand voices
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently
- Familiarity with publishing best practices across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and Reels
- Comfortable working remotely and self-directed
- Bonus: Experience with paid social, influencer coordination, or vertical video editing
Compensation & EngagementRate:
Starting at $23/hour and negotiable (1099 Independent Contractor)
Consistent project flow with opportunity for expanded workload
Contractors are paid based on the actual hours worked on assigned and accepted projects. Work volume may vary based on client demand and business needs, but HVH Media & Marketing anticipates a steady flow of projects to begin, with the ability to take on more work over time.
Contractors maintain discretion over how, when, and where the work is performed, provided agreed-upon deadlines and deliverables are met.
Location & On-Site CollaborationThis is a primarily remote independent contractor role. From time to time, HVH Media & Marketing may offer optional or project-specific opportunities for in-person content capture days, shoots, or client visits. Participation in these on-site projects is coordinated in advance and agreed upon based on contractor availability and scope of work.
