Position: Project Manager
Location: Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid)
- In-person: Mondays and Thursdays at our Los Angeles office
- Remote: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
- Initial contract (1099) role with the potential to transition to a full-time W2 position based on performance and fit
About the Role
We are looking for a results-oriented, resourceful and experienced person to oversee development and production processes for our company projects. You will be a key member of the concept and visualization teams to help create, refine and sustain project management best practices across internal personnel, international freelancers and vendors. In partnering with both the working teams and executive management, you will help ensure a seamless workflow that consistently results in delivering projects that exceed expectations on time and under budget. The expectation is that this role will encompass both project manager and producer responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the process of creating bids for prospective projects, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness
- Create and manage production schedules and budgets for all development and production
- Act as the primary point of contact between Parallax and our clients
- Understand and align with clients' goals, providing effective communication and satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle
- Work closely with creative teams to translate client visions into impactful and innovative content
- Manage the project process from conception through completion and final delivery on multiple projects concurrently for the concept and visualization teams
- Oversee the final deliverables to make certain they meet or exceed client expectations
- Ensure all projects are delivered on time and within budget
- Handle client invoicing including tracking payments and following up on overdue invoices
- Monitor project risks to foresee potential problems while proactively identifying the solutions to address them in advance
- Manage scope and keep a clear line of communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Run internal and client meetings, prepare and deliver project status reports
- Set and define new best-practices as needed to optimize production pipeline
- Hire and manage external talent, including freelancers and vendors, ensuring alignment with project requirements
- Allocate resources effectively to optimize project efficiency
- Be available and connected for off-hours communication as needed with clients, internal team members and international freelancers
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5+ years as a Project Manager in visual effects, visualization, at a creative studio or agency or other vendor side entertainment industry company
- Previous experience and strong contacts with creative agencies and studios
- Detailed knowledge of workflow within a digital creative team
- Exceptional organization, communication and time management skills
- Highly proficient in task management and budget management software
- Adept at proactively identifying and resolving obstacles and issues
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment under rapid development cycles
- Experience managing multi-discipline teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Detail-oriented, highly organized self-starter, and problem-solver
