WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR
The Resource Manager is the nerve center of the creative and design departments – working with the team leads to determine who has the skillsets and bandwidth to take on projects, while partnering with the Director, Resource Management to support broader agency strategies.
The ideal candidate has exceptional communication, problem-solving and organizational skills, with an understanding of finance and resourcing fundamentals. They should be flexible enough to accommodate unforeseen circumstances, changing priorities, and new opportunities while still maintaining a focus on resource optimization.
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL DO (RESPONSIBILITIES)

Partner with Creative, Design, Business Leadership, Project Management and Finance to ensure upcoming and on-going projects have the optimal talent assigned based on skillset, opportunity, capacity, and scope. Participate in new project kick-off meetings as needed.

Actively participate in or lead weekly resourcing meetings while keeping tabs on resource gaps and working to follow-up and sort out discussions to resolve outstanding issues.

Communicate assignments to team members and check in regularly to ensure that assignments are clear and being fulfilled. Identify and raise resourcing challenges to collaborate on solutions.

Learn and embrace data-driven processes and insights, partnering with discipline leads and the Director, Resource Management to:

Input resourcing projections
-
Review and analyze projection dashboards to identify gaps and trends, in partnership with the Director, Resource Management
-
Review and analyze actual utilization dashboards to identify excess capacity to close resourcing gaps and identify staff burn trends
-
Provide accurate and pro-active analysis of Resource department challenges and areas for growth, partnering with the Director, Resource Management on resolution.

Work closely with Project leads (Project Management where applicable) to manage and input a rolling 4 – 6 week set of resourcing assignments and projections that feeds into a dashboard used to assess resourcing assignments by clients, disciplines, and individuals.

Create and manage any additional schedules and trackers that will better assist and inform your inputs into the resourcing projection template.

Collaborate with discipline leads to determine resource gaps that require freelance talent, recruit and manage discussions with freelancers on availabilities, project assignments, and negotiated rates – actively maintaining all necessary details in our freelance platform.

Foster and maintain positive relationships with the freelance talent community, partnering with the Director, Resource Management to build and maintain a centralized database in our freelance platform to quickly and efficiently lean on freelance as needed.

Work closely with the Director, Resource Management and HR / Finance / IT teams to ensure agency’s standard operating procedures are followed throughout the on-boarding process of new staff & freelancers and identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.

Determine where processes can be improved upon and implemented through close collaboration with relevant departments and discipline leads, acting as change agent and ambassador for resourcing process across the network.

HERE’S WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR (QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS)

3-5 years experience in an operational, resource, project management, or a related field
-
Having agency experience or experience working within a creative environment is preferred, but not required
-
Well-developed abilities to impact and influence at various levels of the agency through building strong relationships
-
Effective verbal & written communication skills, with an ability to adapt style for various audiences
-
Possess a solution-oriented approach to problem solving, with the ability to perform well under pressure in response to changing priorities
-
Highly organized individual who excels at time management and prioritization in a fast-paced environment
-
Ability to handle sensitive situations, information and conversations with professionalism and confidentiality
-
A passion to help and develop people – making yourself readily available to answer questions and offer support
SALARY RANGE
The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; location and region; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
