Heritage Auctions is seeking a seasoned Art Director to join our Design Team within the Marketing Department at our Dallas, Texas office. This in-house position necessitates on-site attendance and is not conducive to remote working arrangements. Being the largest auction house established in America, Heritage Auctions (HA.com) is a realm where the confluence of art and opulence is celebrated. Our auctions span an array of categories, including fine jewelry, luxury accessories, timepieces, wine, coins, books and manuscripts, modern & contemporary art, American and European art, decorative arts, entertainment, music, and beyond!
In this hands-on role, you will be a pivot in our print design endeavors, working in tandem with fellow designers, print production staff, marketing managers, and subject matter experts to craft materials that resonate with our brand's ethos in a bustling, deadline-oriented milieu. Having a background in promoting fine jewelry, luxury items, or fine art through print design will be a noteworthy asset.

LOCATION: South of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, NW corner of W. Airport Freeway (Hwy. 183) and Valley View Lane
COMPENSATION: Commensurate based on experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Please note that this position predominantly revolves around print design and is not aligned with digital UI/UX, web, or e-commerce design realms. As an Art Director, your creativity will find its canvas in:
- Leading the design and layout of auction catalogs, which constitute 80% of your role, orchestrating catalogs spanning 100 to 400+ pages.
- Devoting 20% of your time to the design and execution of print ads for various publications, direct mail campaigns, brochures, and other marketing collateral.

- Proficient in independent work, exhibiting meticulous attention to detail.
- Adept at managing a substantial volume of projects with overlapping deadlines, showcasing an aptitude for prioritizing tasks deftly.
- Willingness to work overtime (with remuneration) during weeknights and weekends as needed to adhere to tight deadlines.
- Ability to attend external press checks when required.
- A rich portfolio demonstrating a wide spectrum of work is imperative for consideration.
Requirements
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- 7+ years of robust experience in graphic design for print, complemented with profound pre-press knowledge.
- Stellar aesthetic design ability, showcased through exceptional typography, image layout, and color utilization skills.
- Proven experience in the design and production of print advertisements, direct mail, and diverse print marketing collateral.
- Advanced proficiency in Mac OS, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat), and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Capability to swiftly and precisely execute multi-page projects like catalogs, books, magazines, brochures; transcending mere logos or single-page flyers.
- Aptitude for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues pertinent to design and production.
- Ability to sketch preliminary thumbnails or conceptual drafts.
- Proficiency in color correction, graphic preparation for print, and proofing blueliners.
