Our client, a leading Kid's Apparel brand, is seeking a Freelance Designer to join their team in NYC, ASAP!
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the design team to develop creative seasonal concepts for apparel.
- Utilize research to develop mood boards/ color stories.
- Develop and edit CAD flat sketches & hand drawings for children's (boy's/ girl's) apparel.
- Manage collection line sheets / look books.
- Set up design cards (sketches, reference images, construction details, BOM, measurements).
- Preparation for design meetings (track protos, set up design presentation digital & physical boards etc.)
- Act as liaison between design and production to help coordinate development and bulk production style
- Attend fittings and collaborate with TDs/ patternmakers to make necessary adjustments and modifications.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including tech, production and merchandising to facilitate smooth communication and workflow.
- Collaborate with overseas vendors and manufacturers to convey specifications.
Requirements:
- Required bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or related field.
- Skilled with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator & Photoshop)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with skills to work respectfully and effectively with cross functional teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality.
- Superior organizational skills and excellent time management.
- Proficiency in PLM a plus.
