Content Creation & Social Media Assistant

Social Chaos is growing, and we’re looking for a creative, motivated, and social media-savvy individual to join our team!
We’re seeking someone who lives and breathes social media, has an eye for content, stays ahead of trends, and isn’t afraid to bring fresh ideas to the table.
This is a hands-on position that combines content creation, on-site shoots, video editing, and social media management for a variety of brands, businesses, and events.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
* Assisting with content creation for a variety of clients across different industries
* Traveling on-site throughout Connecticut (and occasionally nearby out-of-state locations) to capture photo and video content for events, campaigns, and client shoots
* Brainstorming creative content ideas, campaigns, and social media strategies
* Filming engaging, high-quality content using an iPhone
* Editing short-form videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and other social platforms
* Writing captions and scheduling social media posts
* Staying up to date with current trends, trending audio, platform updates, and best practices
* Assisting with content calendars and day-to-day social media management
* Collaborating on creative direction and executing content ideas from start to finish
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
* Someone who is creative, proactive, organized, and detail-oriented
* A self-starter who can work independently, take initiative, and bring ideas to the table
* Someone who genuinely enjoys social media and understands what makes content engaging
* Experience creating and editing short-form video content
* Familiarity with Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Canva, CapCut, and scheduling platforms
* Strong communication and time management skills
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple clients
* Willingness to travel to client locations, events, and content shoots
* Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
* Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed
* Someone who is eager to learn, grow, and become an integral part of a growing agency
Important: We’re looking for someone who wants to grow as part of the Social Chaos team, rather than someone currently operating their own social media management or content creation business.
POSITION DETAILS
* Position: Content Creation & Social Media Assistant
* Location: Connecticut-based; travel required
* Employment Type: 1099 Independent Contractor
* Compensation: Hourly, based on experience
* Schedule: Flexible, project-based hours with occasional nights and weekends
* Growth Opportunity: Potential to transition into a full-time position as the agency continues to expand
