Suddenly a Whale is an independent digital marketing shop working with brands and businesses all over the country, big and small. We're looking for an Anchorage-based freelance content creator to capture photo and video for one of our local clients in the nightlife industry. Scoping ~10 hours per week NTE.
We're also building out our freelance bench, so if it's a good fit, there's room to take on shoots and editing for our other clients too.
What you'd do:
- Shoot 3-4 nights a month, about 2 hours on-site each night (mostly evenings and weekends)
- Work from a shot list we send you, so you always know what to grab
- Use the rest of your hours to edit what you captured into Reels, TikToks and photos
- Upload everything to a shared folder for our team to review and post
What we're looking for:
- 21+
- Comfortable filming in busy, low-light spaces
- Confident editing short-form video (CapCut, Premiere, or similar)
- Your own gear: a camera or recent smartphone, a tripod, and a light
- Reliable and easy to reach on shoot days
- Bonus: an Instagram, TikTok or portfolio that shows how you see things
This is a 1099 freelance role. Pay starts at $20/hr, depending on experience. Students are welcome, and we're happy to work with your program if you'd like to earn credit too.
Want to stand out? Drop a link to your portfolio or socials on your resume or LinkedIn profile — Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, wherever your work lives. And if you want to tell us a little about yourself, a few lines are welcome too. Totally optional, we just like knowing who we're talking to.
One more thing: this role is for folks already living in the Anchorage area — shoots happen on-site at night, so you'll need to be local.
