About PromoFlix
PromoFlix is an AI-powered platform for mass-personalized video outreach. One real recording becomes hundreds of videos that greet each recipient by name, delivered by email, LinkedIn, or SMS. Local businesses use it to win back lapsed customers and collect Google reviews; recruiters and agencies use it for outreach that gets answered. The product is built and in use by trial customers. We're ready to ramp up marketing and need an approach that quickly builds awareness and paid subscriptions - you'll be instrumental in that early success.
The role
We're looking for a marketing director to work alongside our CEO as a thinking partner and a hands-on executor. Half of the job is strategy: shaping how we structure our marketing, and deciding which tasks to tackle first for the biggest early impact. The other half is doing: writing, launching, measuring, and improving campaigns yourself. You'll also manage two marketing interns.
This is a genuine part-time role, with a minimum of 15 hours a week. It is built for someone who wants a real ownership stake in a product, not a freelance gig paid by the hour.
What you'll do
- Work with the CEO to structure our marketing and decide what to do first, so the earliest efforts make the most impact
- Sharpen our messaging and positioning, and rethink our ideal customer profile across local service businesses, recruiters, and marketing agencies
- Own the website: copy, landing pages, and conversion improvements
- Plan and run email campaigns, from cold outreach to nurture sequences for trial users and leads
- Build our presence on LinkedIn, Reddit and Meta — posts, community participation, and content
- Launch and manage small, efficient paid ad tests on Reddit, LinkedIn and Meta
- Grow our agency partner and affiliate programs
- Set up and connect the tools and workflows that make campaigns run smoothly
- Manage two interns: give them clear tasks, review their work, and help them grow
- Report weekly on what's working, using attribution data, and cut what isn't
Must-haves
- 3+ years of hands-on marketing at a SaaS company or a marketing agency
- Has run multichannel campaigns end to end yourself: email, social and paid ads
- Writes clear, persuasive copy, and can produce or direct simple creative (graphics, short video, landing pages)
- Comfortable with marketing technology: connecting tools, building automations, and fixing workflows that break
- Resourceful with a small budget — you know how to get real results without big spend, and the budget will grow as revenue does
Strong pluses
- Agency marketing, partner marketing, or affiliate program experience
- Social media community marketing done well (genuine participation, not spam)
- LinkedIn and Meta ads management
- Video marketing, since our product is video
- Experience marketing to local service businesses, recruiters, or agencies
- Familiarity with the tools we use today: Instantly and Airtable (we are willing to switch if more effective tools are suggested)
- Experience using AI heavily in marketing and automation — we're open to your ideas on martech tools and vendors
Who thrives here
- Above all: you want to build value in a company you partly own and benefit from, rather than punching a clock to build something for someone else's gain. Equity in a product you shape matters more to you than an hourly rate.
- You think like an owner: you find out why a campaign underperformed, not just that it did.
- You say plainly when something isn't worth doing or needs another approach.
- You bring ideas, not just execution — you'll help decide what we do, not only how.
- You can reliably give 15+ hours a week alongside your other commitments.
What we offer
- Equity vesting over 3 years
- An early vesting tranche tied to two measurable milestones: a demand engine generating at least 30 trial signups a month from target audiences for two consecutive months, plus 3 signed agency partners; and a website converting at least 2% of visitors to trial signups over 60 days at 1,000+ monthly visitors, with attribution tracking in place. Final targets are set together after a 30-day baseline.
- Real ownership of our marketing channels, a strong voice in strategy, and a team of two interns
- A move to paid hours once revenue supports it
Honest stage disclosure
We are pre-revenue with live trials and cannot pay salaries yet. The role is part-time, with a 15-hour weekly minimum. It suits someone with other income or spare capacity who wants a meaningful stake in an early product — not someone looking for freelance income.
Pay: From $1.00 per year
Application Question(s):
- This role is paid in equity only until revenue supports paid hours. There is no salary or hourly pay at the start. By proceeding with an application, you acknowledge that you understand and agree to this compensation model.
