Work with the editorial team to align archival content with current themes, campaigns, and promotional activities.

Develop a content calendar for Instagram posts featuring archival material, coordinating with the overall social media strategy.

Edit and optimize scanned images for Instagram, ensuring they meet platform standards and enhance visual appeal.

Add context or commentary to posts to provide background information and connect historical content with current trends.

Manage and track output and report analytics and performance of videos.

Manage quality control of videos, maintaining a consistent look and feel.

Manage exporting, storage, and publishing of videos.

Report updates, best practices, and adapt strategies as needed.

Be responsible for print content published to Complex’s TikTok, including scripting, creating, shooting, editing, curating, and posting.

Provide platform-specific tactics, strategic pivots, and added direction when needed.

Assist with shoots and conduct interviews in the office and at events.

Work with social editors on pegs and tentpole coverage, and re-socialing evergreen content.

Collaborate cross-functionally with editorial and video teams across Complex.

Track and share social and platform best practices with internal teams, providing best-in-class examples where possible.

Work with Strategy and Sales teams to package and pitch social series and franchises.

Surface and pitch viral, breaking, and social-friendly content to our news team.

Ensure all social videos are cross-posted where it makes sense.

2-3 years of social media and editorial experience with a publisher or brand.

A deep understanding of the Complex content, voice, and tone.

Positive, intuitive, proactive, and collaborative team player.

Strong writing and communication skills, proofreading experience, and quick decision-making skills.

Must be willing to work nights and occasional weekends/holidays for coverage.

Robust knowledge of current events + pop culture + sports + music.

Possess a deep understanding and fluency of all social media platforms. (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Snapchat)

Extensive knowledge of internet culture and proven track record in driving audience and consumer action on social.

The Pay Range, which consists of salary and commission, for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Complex Total Rewards offerings for employees.
