Role Objectives
The Digital Content & Communications Specialist will serve as a hands-on creative contributor and collaborative thought partner across With Honor’s communications and digital efforts. Reporting to the Communications Director, the Specialist will work closely with colleagues responsible for digital content production, social media, communications analytics, and creative development to execute integrated content and engagement strategies across platforms.
The role will help:
- Develop compelling, platform-appropriate content that expands awareness of With Honor’s mission, initiatives, and leadership.
- Support digital campaigns and content surrounding Courage Can Save US, organizational thought leadership, events, appearances, and other priority initiatives.
- Grow and engage With Honor’s digital audiences through thoughtful content creation, community engagement, testing, analytics, and continuous improvement.
- Extend the value and reach of events, media appearances, and other opportunities through timely clips, graphics, social content, recaps, and follow-up.
- Strengthen consistency in With Honor’s digital voice, visual identity, and storytelling across platforms.
Responsibilities
- Concept and produce content across LinkedIn, Meta, X, TikTok, and YouTube, including share kits (suggested posts, graphics, links) for endorsers and partners
- Write and schedule Mailchimp campaigns, and help test subject lines, segments, and send timing
- Make content updates to With Honor websites and related pages in WordPress
- Support event promotion and communications execution, including digital content, partner coordination, and run-of-show needs
- Design graphics in Canva or Adobe, and help manage a shared media library
- Respond to audience engagement in real time, fostering a positive, respectful community aligned with With Honor’s mission
- Support digital campaign execution through audience segmentation, contact management, form/data quality, and performance tracking
- Monitor, analyze, and report on social media performance metrics to inform strategy and drive audience growth and engagement
- Maintain brand integrity across all digital platforms; ensure consistency in visual identity and tone

Experience and Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in social media management, content creation, or digital communications—ideally in a news media, nonprofit, political, or advocacy context
- A portfolio demonstrating strong writing; social, graphic, or video work is a strong plus
- Proficiency with content creation tools, digital marketing platforms, and analytics dashboards
- Experience with Mailchimp, WordPress, and Canva or Adobe preferred
- Experience on Capitol Hill, a political campaign, a newsroom, or in book publicity is a plus
- Ability to translate complex policy and civic issues into accessible storytelling
Terms
- 3-month starting agreement with opportunity to renew
- 40 hours per week, in-office - Washington, D.C.
- $35-$40 hourly rate of pay
