Madison helps boutique professional services firms grow. Our clients are usually 20 to 100 people. They've outgrown referrals, but aren't big enough to have a real marketing department. We help them get clear on what they're known for, then build the thought leadership and business development engine.
THE ROLE:
This is a part-time role to start (20 hours per week), with the goal of moving to full time within a few months as the work grows. We're looking for someone who wants to grow into a full-time seat with us.
We're a small team, so this isn't a narrow role. You'll quickly start owning client relationships, shape strategy, and do a meaningful share of the work yourself.
Madison is 3 years old. We grew 100% in 2025 and another 50% in 2026. This role will get to play a meaningful role in continuing that progress, and there will be growth opportunities for people who can help us make that happen.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
You'll run a set of client accounts as the primary point of contact. That means working directly with the CEO or Managing Partner of these firms, which requires great executive presence and poise.
Most of the hands-on work is thought leadership: LinkedIn posts for firm leaders and long-form articles for client sites. You'll write a lot. This matters more than anything else in the role. You need to be deeply curious about their business, willing to learn quickly, and able to translate their ideas into words better than they can. And you need to be able to do so without AI - while we do use these tools, every piece of content is ultimately hand-written.
You'll also manage the projects around that work. You'll coordinate with the rest of the team so things ship on time, and adjust when a client's priorities shift mid-month (which happens a lot).
Last, you'll actively look for opportunities to grow the business. All of our work is recurring revenue, and every team member gets a percentage of revenue for work they either expand with existing accounts, or new accounts they land.
WHO DOES WELL HERE:
There are a couple prototypes that can do well here:
- Someone with consulting experience, who understands what the professional services world is like, and who wants to become great at marketing.
- Former journalists who love writing, love interviewing clients, and want to become great at marketing.
- Marketers with experience who are fantastic writers, deeply curious about different industries and like rolling their hands up and making things.
COMPENSATION
- Part-time to start: $3000/month for 20 hours per week
- $70K base salary if/when you transition to full time
- 10% commission on upsells for clients you serve and on net new revenue you bring in
- Health, vision, and dental insurance once you're full time
