The Content Writer will work directly with the Team Lead and Director to discuss, fulfill, and edit client content needs. In most cases, the Content Writer will not be asked to work from a blank page. Notes, topics, keywords, rough outlines, or recordings will be provided to help the Content Writer get a sense for what is needed.
Depending on the project, the writer might be asked to interview a stakeholder via phone or to be on the call during meetings or interviews to gather quotes, insights, or details to include in the content. Given scheduling logistics, the Content Writer will not be expected to complete these projects within a 1 - 2 day window.
The Content Writer will not be responsible for uploading or publishing content to the various platforms and content management systems.
Working Arrangements
The Content Writer will work in a remote, freelance capacity and on a project-by-project basis. Please note that frequent or consistent work is not guaranteed.
The Team Lead will discuss hours and bandwidth with the Content Writer prior to assigning projects, and will check-in periodically to identify any needs for adjustments.
There will not be set hours or a set schedule that the Content Writer is expected to follow. If the Content Writer, Team Lead, and Director need to meet via phone, the meeting will be scheduled by email and/or Calendly link. The Team Lead and Director will be available to meet Monday - Friday from 9 am - 5 pm EST but can make exceptions if necessary.
All correspondence will take place via email or phone call. Though Zoom is not a primary or preferred method of communication, it can be used for its screen share feature if necessary.
Compensation and Employment Type
The Content Writer will work as a 1099 contractor and will bill Forge Marketing Group directly for their services. The Content Writer’s hourly rate will be discussed and confirmed prior to working with Forge.
The Content Writer must submit an invoice on the last business day of the month for the hours they worked that month to receive payment during that pay period. Forge asks that the invoice offer at least a 15-day payment term. Forge pays invoices via direct deposit using its payroll software. It cannot pay invoices using cash.
Forge will compensate the Content Writer for their work regardless of whether the client accepts the finished product or not.
