Location: San Jose, CA - onsite 1-2 days per week
Pay Range: $50-59/hr
Duration: 9-month contract to hire through Insight Global
Requirements:
- 3-5+ years of Technical Writing experience
- Aerospace or Manufacturing Industry Experience
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with strong command of grammar, clarity, and concise phrasing.
- Demonstrated ability to research independently: read product specs, hands-on test features, and interview technical experts.
- Strong organizational skills and a track record of structuring content for fast, easy navigation.
- Technical aptitude and familiarity with documentation tooling such as MS Office, MES and confluence.
- Ability to read and interpret technical source material, including engineering documentation.
Positon Responsibilities:
- Create documentation including user manuals, instruction & build guides, FAQs and system process documents.
- Partner closely with engineers, and subject matter experts to gather accurate details on how products work, interviewing experts and reviewing specifications as needed.
- Translate complex technical concepts into plain language for non-technical end users without sacrificing precision.
- Incorporate visuals such as diagrams, charts, graphs, and screenshots to clarify instructions and reduce reader effort.
- Maintain quality by updating existing documentation and adhering to in-house template guides.
- Structure content logically and maintain information architecture so readers can find answers fast.
- Take on additional documentation-related tasks as needed to keep teams moving efficiently and effectively.
