Company Description Greenwich Advanced Counseling is a professional counseling and resource center located in the backcountry of Greenwich, CT. Founded in 2007 with the support of local churches and benefactors, GAC offers counseling, interventions, renewal groups, seminars, and professional training in a private, confidential setting. Over 1,500 individuals have received guidance and support from its experienced professional staff. GAC provides a peaceful retreat environment that encourages growth, healing, and learning, and welcomes community members seeking support or information about its services.
Role Description The Social Media Manager is a remote, contract role. This role is responsible for planning, creating, and publishing content across social media platforms to increase awareness of the GAC's services and mission. Day-to-day tasks include developing social media campaigns, managing posting calendars, engaging with online communities, responding to messages and comments, and monitoring performance metrics.
The Social Media Manager will collaborate with counseling and administrative staff to highlight programs, events, seminars, and training opportunities, and ensure all content reflects GAC's compassionate and confidential approach. The role also involves staying current with social media trends and best practices and recommending improvements to enhance reach and engagement.
Qualifications
- Social Media Marketing and Social Media Optimization (SMO) skills, including experience managing platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and others.
- Communication and Writing skills, with the ability to create clear, empathetic, and professional content tailored to diverse audiences.
- Content Strategy skills, including planning campaigns, building editorial calendars, and aligning content with organizational goals.
- Experience analyzing social media metrics and using insights to refine strategies and improve engagement.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Comfort working in a setting focused on mental health, counseling, or community services; prior experience in a nonprofit or healthcare environment is a plus.
• Demonstrated understanding and sensitivity the mental health field, and ability to remain current, relevant, and emotionally attuned to issues within mental health
- Passion for GAC's mission to make mental health care accessible
- Proficiency with social media management tools and basic graphic or video editing tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express) is beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
