SUMMARY:
The Social Media Coordinator will work closely with their manager and team to build and operate Mumu's social media channels. This highly creative, video-forward role will help execute social strategy, concept and produce trend-relevant content, and serve as a voice of the brand through direct community engagement. The Coordinator will own social content from concepting and filming through editing and publishing, support audience and engagement growth across channels, and partner closely with a Mumu Co-Founder on content for her personal social platforms. Candidates must be within reasonable commuting distance of Mumu HQ and able to film regularly at the Co-Founder's residence and other locations in the Los Angeles area.
CORE DUTIES:
Content Creation
- Ensure the platform reflects the annual social calendar that includes all of Mumu’s key commerce initiatives, brand initiatives and events
- Concept, film, and edit elevated, social-first video content for Mumu Main, Mumu Weddings, TikTok, and other priority channels
- Produce video-heavy content using professional and mobile equipment, including cameras, lighting, audio, and smartphones
- Develop original, brand-right concepts, hooks, scripts, shot lists, and storyboards for daily social content
- Write verbiage for captions
- Assisting with try ons/takeovers filming & scheduling
- Responsible for Flat lays / filler pictures / hanging pictures / BTS at shoots & in between shoots
Social Media
- Work with the Creative team to produce new and relevant social launches
- Responsible to rotate attendance of all photo shoots / shopping cart days in lieu of the Social Media Manager
- Assist running Instagram with the Sr. Social Media Manager
- Take care of the planning, execution, and optimization of all FB Reel content
- Partner/ organize photoshoot days with the photo studio manager/team
- Build and update Mood Boards and story boarding out each shoot from a social perspective (ensure we are capturing a video aspect to each outfit)
- visions for scenes and clothes (be aware of launches and any requests from executives or design about clothes/ prints)
- Video ads / meet with graphic designer to post things on social
- Keeping team updated with knowledge of social media algorithms and trends especially video & FB reel focused
- Collecting blogger user generated content (UGC)
- Fully trained BACK UP FOR Sr. Social Media Manager (posting, community management) during weeks or weekends
- Plan, execute and optimize the Company TikTok
- Proactively monitor social and cultural trends, emerging formats, sounds, creators, platform features, and editing styles; translate relevant trends into timely, brand-right content
- Update and maintain a regular daily/weekly Tik Tok content calendar
- Social Media Engagement to build brand awareness
- Find and connect with new creators & influencers on Tik Tok and other emerging media platforms
- Plan, create, edit, and publish content directly across primary Company social media platforms, maintaining platform-specific best practices and a consistent brand voice
- Partner closely with a Mumu Co-Founder to develop and manage content for her personal social media channels
- Concept recurring series and timely posts that reflect the Co-Founder's voice, personal brand, and business priorities
- Coordinate and conduct regular on-location filming at the Co-Founder's residence and other agreed locations
- Own the Co-Founder's content workflow from concept and filming through video editing, captioning, approvals, scheduling, and publishing
-Pin photos from main Instagram
-Re-pin and maintain Pinterest board and engaged followers
-Creative new approaches on Pinterest while maintaining the brand and elevating the pieces
Marketing / PR
- Attend events for PR team whether hosted by Mumu or guests
- Gather content
- Network with guest
- Assist at events (pre/during/post)
- Photoshoots
- Day of ecommerce shoots – on set for BTS and iPhone shots for Instagram, website, and emails
- Attend all photoshoots to capture content, edit, and use across Instagram, emails, and the website
- Help organize photoshoot days alongside the photo studio manager
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Advanced proficiency in social-first video production and editing, with a portfolio demonstrating strong concepting, storytelling, pacing, transitions, sound design, text overlays, color correction, and platform-native execution
- Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro and/or After Effects and CapCut; able to turn around polished short-form edits quickly without sacrificing quality
- Strong creative concepting skills and a demonstrated ability to identify, evaluate, and act quickly on relevant social and cultural trends
- Comfortable partnering one-on-one with an executive or founder, filming in a residential setting, receiving feedback, and independently managing content through publication
- Highly organized, resourceful, and dependable with excellent interpersonal skills
- Professionally appropriate speaking & writing for social postings and email communication.
- Advanced working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere Pro; experience with After Effects, Photoshop, and mobile editing tools is strongly preferred
- Expert-level with Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, TikTok publishing & Facebook.
- Intermediate to expert-level Proficiency in Google Suite, MS Office, Slack and has the ability to learn and implement new tools/systems
- Ability to multitask and work well to meet deadlines in a timely manner
- Candidate must be able to prioritize with a sense of urgency and be a team player
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 2 years of social media & content creation experience
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on social-first video creation, concept development, filming, and editing experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion, Merchandising, Photography, or other Visual Communications Arts
- Able to work and think independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent follow-through and attention to detail
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Excellent listening, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondences, pattern cards, and diagrams
- Ability to write correspondence
COMPENSATION:
$25-$27.84 Per Hour (DOE) Depending on Experience
