SMUGGLER - New York
About SMUGGLER
SMUGGLER is a global production company. We make commercials, music videos, films, television, theater, and experiences with some of the most awarded directors in the world. Now we're building the new frontier of social media storytelling that lives around the company and the work.
About the Role
SMUGGLER is looking for a Social Media Creative. You'll run our accounts, own the content calendar, and make the work that defines how SMUGGLER looks, sounds, and moves on the internet. We're looking for a genuine editor and designer who thinks like a publisher. Someone fluent in the rhythms of the modern internet, with a deep love of film, television, and creative culture.
You know how to find the signal through the noise. You follow the people and formats shaping culture, and you understand how to turn that awareness into distinctive, platform-native storytelling. This is not simply a role for keeping the channels active. You'll turn SMUGGLER's work, talent, and point of view into content that honors the craft, reaches new audiences, and gives people a reason to follow along.
The job has three parts:
Make the Work
You'll concept, design, edit, write, and publish the assets that go out every week.
- Create platform-native social content, with an immediate focus on Instagram and LinkedIn.
- Shape raw footage, finished work, stills, and archival material into compelling edits, carousels, stories, and other formats.
- Cut behind-the-scenes material into stories that bring wider audiences into the filmmaking process
- Carry our running series forward – keeping each one sharp, consistent, and improving with every installment.
- Develop strong creative hooks, structures, and packaging that earn attention from people who do not already follow SMUGGLER.
- Work confidently in Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and InDesign, along with any other tools that help you move quickly and make excellent work.
- Write concise, intelligent copy that feels unmistakably SMUGGLER.
- Maintain a high bar for design, editing, typography, pacing, and finish.
Run and Grow the Accounts
You own the calendar, the posting, and the day-to-day of the channels.
- Help evolve SMUGGLER's social strategy, editorial priorities, and publishing rhythm.
- Build and manage the content calendar, coordinating assets, approvals, deadlines, and launches.
- Package each story for the platform and audience it is meant to reach rather than treating every channel the same.
- Manage publishing and community engagement across SMUGGLER's social accounts.
- Stay close to changes in platform behavior, algorithms, audience habits, and emerging formats.
- Test new approaches to creative, hooks, timing, and packaging, then use the results to improve the work.
- Run monthly reporting for company leadership, explaining what is working, what is not, and what we should try next.
- Balance growth with taste, expanding the audience without compromising the SMUGGLER brand.
Extend the Brand
SMUGGLER's voice does not stop at the feed. Over time, you'll help push it into original formats, editorial ideas, and new expressions of the brand.
- Keep a finger on the pulse of film culture, emerging directors, photography, art, fashion, and the wider creative world.
- Identify rising creative talent and share stories, people, and ideas SMUGGLER should be paying attention to.
- Help plan crafted making-of and behind-the-scenes storytelling.
- Source and collaborate with behind-the-scenes directors, photographers, editors, designers, and other creative partners in major production hubs around the world.
- Bring the same visual sensibility to occasional decks, editorial packages, invitations, and other brand materials when needed.
- Serve the growing audience by developing new, repeatable, ownable content series – formats with their own identity, built to stand on their own.
- Contribute ideas for wherever and however SMUGGLER should show up next.
Who You Are
