We are seeking a
Digital Media Specialist to join our
Operation Christmas Child team in
Charlotte, NC. Through humanitarian work, the goal and purpose of Samaritan's Purse are to help people in Jesus' name and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In the role of
Digital Media Specialist, you will have the opportunity to:
- Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ
- Support the OCC social media strategy across Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube, and group pages by curating, creating, planning, and scheduling Christ-centered content that advances the ministry's mission
- Help manage the daily social media calendar and review scheduled content for accuracy, consistency, approved messaging, and proper tracking/reporting tags
- Research and secure digital consent for fan-generated content, maintain the content database, and provide compassionate, timely engagement with comments and direct messages using approved guidelines, especially during peak OCC season
- Create and edit compelling vertical videos, reels, stories, and graphics that help share the Gospel and the life-changing impact of Operation Christmas Child
- Monitor social media performance through weekly reports, engagement, and trend analysis while supporting Facebook Group management, including member requests, rules, moderation, and sharing relevant ministry content
- Other duties as assigned
What are the qualifications?

As a qualified candidate, you will have the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, with 3 to 5 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience managing major social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, X and YouTube, as well as online community group pages
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft engaging copy, proofread carefully, and uphold accuracy in grammar, punctuation, style, and ministry messaging
- Working knowledge of social media analytics, including impressions, reach, engagement, and performance trends, with the ability to use insights to strengthen content and campaigns.
- Creative, detail-oriented approach to developing and editing photo and video content, with a strong understanding of social media trends, tools, and best practices that support organizational goals
