I’m looking for a brilliant, experienced social media strategist who thinks of themselves as an editor-in-chief and storyteller. (LA-based required; role includes a mix of in-person and remote work. Prior experience working with artists is essential.)
I’m a commercial photographer, director, and composer working out of my live-work studio in Venice Beach. And I need help weaving together all my disciplines into cohesion.
Recent photo clients: BMW, Doritos + F1, and City of Hope on the commercial side. Directing a documentary about lasers. Just finished a quadraphonic original score which is playing at the National Gallery of Art in DC for the next 5 months. I feel like I output as much as a small media company, with 8,000+ processed photos, fully edited BTS videos of me on set or making art, and a ton of content waiting to be edited. I’m on four platforms with my name, my composing name, and my company’s name because each has a part in the story.
I’m so busy I haven’t posted (so we can't lead with the good stuff yet because it will fall deaf). But it’s time to build momentum and share the above news.
I need someone who does a deep intake of me and my goals, digs into the archive, finds the through-line connecting the commercial work to the music and the "just because" videos and builds smart cadence. It’s a dynamic mix of serious to ridiculous, from authentic shares about composing to how to make amazing unusual oatmeal.
This is not an advisory role. It’s a hands-on role for someone who can source, be here for any filming (I have the crew), edit, caption, post, execute, analyze, adjust. It's a 90-day sprint: you build the system and help my Lead Integrator take over day-to-day scheduling by the end of month two and work together in month 3 for full ownership.
Who you are: a real aesthetic eye (European born or trained is a plus), research-driven, thinks like an editor-in-chief, not a scheduler. You've run more than one brand before. And you understand how each platform works and what it’s for, especially including LinkedIn.
$3,000/month + performance bonuses, 3-month retainer. Venice Beach preferred, hybrid considered.
To apply: send your work, a list of brands / artists you’ve helped, and in three sentences, tell me what makes someone's digital presence feel real instead of promotional.
