Voice Arena · Remote · Contract-to-hire (3-month paid trial → full-time)
About the role
Voice Arena is building its presence on X, and we're looking for someone to own it end to end. Our product managers know the product cold and will supply you with raw material — drafts, insights, release notes, technical detail. Your job is to turn that into an account people actually follow.
This is not a scheduling job. You'll set the editorial voice, decide what ships and when, rewrite what needs rewriting, and spend real time in replies and DMs building relationships in the AI/voice community. You'll be the person who decides what "sounds like Voice Arena" on X.
What you'll own
Cadence. 1-3 posts/day. Roughly two-thirds sourced from PM drafts, the rest originated by you.
Editorial judgment. You have rewrite and veto authority on everything that goes out, including PM-supplied posts. If a draft won't land, you say so and work with the team to fix it. PMs own accuracy; you own whether it works.
The reply layer. Expect ~50% of your time here. Replying under large accounts in our space, quote-posting with a real point of view, engaging every meaningful reply on our own posts within the first 60 minutes.
Format experimentation. Threads, single-tweet hooks, video, screenshots, polls, build-in-public updates. You run tests, kill what doesn't work, double down on what does.
The working relationship with PMs. Weekly content sync, a shared pipeline they can drop into, and a fast turnaround so nothing sits.
When a PM's message and the audience's interest diverge, you flag it early.
Reporting Weekly numbers: follower delta, impressions, engagement rate, top and bottom posts, and what you changed as a result.
What we're looking for
- Proof you've grown an account.
- A native feel for X specifically. Not LinkedIn, not general "social media."
- Strong, fast writing.
You can take a dense technical paragraph from an engineer and make it a post someone stops scrolling for, without making it dumber.
Comfort with technical subject matter. Voice AI, LLMs, developer tooling. You don't need to be an engineer, but you need to be able to read the docs, ask good questions and be active in the X community.
Judgment about voice. You'll push back on PMs. Do it in a way that keeps them wanting to work with you.
Timezone reality. Posting and replying happens across the day, including some weekends. Say up front how you'd handle it.
Nice to have
- An existing personal following in tech, AI, or dev communities
- Video/short-form editing
- Prior in-house work
Compensation
Located in SF is preferred but remote is an option.
Contractor: $3,000–$5,000 a month depending on experience. Full time TBD.
